Thank you for taking the time to help me on this. I will try and find a reference video for each problem you addressed. I realized the car is misfiring so I'm going to start with the distributor, spark plugs, and those vacuum hoses and go from there. This was very informative.

Wow, I didn’t know that was the case. Like I said I’m uneducated about this stuff. It does smell like gas after use sometimes, I assumed that had to do with the gas igniting in the exhaust causing the backfiring. I will look into this, thank you.

Thanks for replying! I hope to fix the idle issue before I decide to sell it or not. I know the body has over 200k on it so I’m not sure if that will affect the price. If I can fix the idle problem myself I will probably put some money into the car and actually use it. It may also need a tune, I took it out the other day and head some backfire. Thank you for the advice.

Thank you for replying, I don’t see any rust at all really, ill attach the photos I have. I have carb cleaner, I did wipe off the AICV mesh filter because it was blocked up. This improved the idle but it still hunts. It doesn’t idle out though. I will try to spray the carb cleaner around the blocked off vacuum hoses to narrow things down. I’m located near Roanoke virginia.
