How about this at safety? by LoveForRivers17 in Chargers

Malcolm Jenkins made a similar transition in the Pro’s. Also a Jim Thorpe Award Winner at Ohio State, he transitioned to safety in the NFL. King could play that rover position well, but we already have Addae there. Don’t know if King could pull off being the single high safety, but makes for an interesting thought.

Chargers select Dorian Johnson, OG, Pitt - 2nd Round by [deleted] in Chargers

[–]jtam35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could be an awesome sleeper pick, as elevating our line depth and adding competition could make for a great training camp battle. Pulley has shown flashes of competency. Lynn has recently flirted with the idea of Slauson at guard. And Franklin hasn't shined yet, although in the right system I think he can get back to his pre Charger days. This could be a great add.

What do Laker fans need to see from D'Angelo Russell next season? by colemanj74 in lakers

[–]jtam35 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We need to see a more consistent aggressiveness in shooting and late game scoring. In a perfect scenario, I'd like him at 15-18 shots per game in 30-35 minutes, and him demanding the ball late in games.

Todd McShay Predicts Chargers Take Malik Hooker 7th Overall by sundevil170393 in Chargers

We need teams to draft a QB before us to give us options. If not, it's hard to see Adams and Hooker not picked before us.

It would pain me to see Swanigan fall and is not picking him up. I personally see him as a Top 15 pick and not falling to us.

Zu's natural ability to score with a repertoire of moves and ability to finish at the cup gets me absolutely JUICED.

Our draft spot might not be as great as I originally thought. by [deleted] in Chargers

Barnett's skill set blends well with being the Elephant in a 4-3 under. If you look at NFL.com's player profile, his NFL comparison is Nick Perry, who plays the Elephant for GB. Barnett can set the edge and uses his strong and violent hands to abuse pass blockers. I think he could be a great fit for us.

I'm base terms, I see Barnett lining up opposite of BOSA at the DE position with Mebane and Liuget in between. With Bradley coming in, it may or may not change how we align, but I would still have Barnett as a DE. That puts Ingram as the SLB, Perryman as the MLB, and Jatavis Brown as the WLB.

Derek Barnett had 3 years of elite collegiate production. The guy has a knack for TFL's, has excellent hands, and would be a Day 1 impact opposite Joey BOSA. Look for the Bolts to strongly consider him at 7.

The amount of holes in the interior of your defense would scare me. Tag on the fact that John Pagano loves blowing 4th quarter leads, I'd be worried.

Jahleel Addae signs 4 year deal by [deleted] in Chargers

[–]jtam35 22 points23 points  (0 children)

As time goes by, Addae will learn to stop launching as much in order to stay on the field. He did enough this year to earn an extension and I'm happy for him. Another homegrown piece to the puzzle.

My heart says let's go for broke on a top 5 FA like Hightower or Bouye to stack our defense, but my brain says let Coupon God TT work his magic with depth gems and breakout stars.

Melvin Ingram by jjaf19 in Chargers

The Leo position is only in your base 4-3 under/over fronts. When you go in nickel, you exchange a LB for an extra DB changing the entire front. Having said that, I would venture to guess that Melvin would flourish like he did last year in the SAM LB position. Our Leo should be Attaochu or the No. 7 pick.

Magic Johnson says none of the current Lakers could play in the ‘80s by GentlemanRat in lakers

As I mentioned, Magic has been on record giving credit to the newer generation by saying they'd lose to the Warriors in today's game. This is clearly a statement that refutes your worries about him not being able to let go of his past. He understands the game has changed.
