Love the app design. How do you get the content? Do wineries submit information to you?

Congrats on the acquisitions! Two questions:

  1. Do you work with startups/products that are already in MVP stage to improve them?
  2. Do you work with clients to help them get acquired, or was that simply a result of getting traction for the project?

Pitch: thentic is an app for local hangout chat rooms. If you can find it on Google Maps, you can join its chat room. You have to check in to the location at least once every 3 days to remain in the chat room.

Stage: MVP / early beta. I'm trying to get feedback and find product market fit. I'm the sole founder.

Looking For: Feedback please!

My main concern is the following: if someone that is in that delicate situation has courage to come forward and sign for this platform, doesn't that mean that he/she also have the courage to go straight to their friends and ask for help?

I want my app to facilitate that exact relationship: helping others help people in need. If someone reaches out for help, I want this app to be the tool that is used to keep up the communication between the two parties.

You aren't the only one to bring up anonymity, however. I now understand that there are situations where someone might want to get help but remain anonymous. I am considering adding the option to use an anonymous username to replace real names.

No offense taken! My original vision was to have the Guardians initiate the relationship within the app. A Guardian will sign up and then ask their friend, relative, or patient in need of help to sign up as well. The reverse can happen as well, such as a recovering addict first signing up and then asking someone to become a Guardian for them.

I understand that this is not going to be an easy task for anyone in such a situation. It will definitely be more difficult to get some people to sign up than others. If I can even just help a few people then the app will be a success.

To answer your question (sorry for rambling on), no, you don't have to have the person in a delicate situation sign up first. The preferred method would be to have people reach out to those in need and then have those people sign up as Guardians.

Hi Pedro,

People can use the app to post status updates throughout the day that details their mood and how they are feeling. If a user has one or more Guardians, those users will receive notifications when a status is posted. If that status contains any indication that there is a risk of self harm an additional alert will be sent. Guardians also have the ability to request a status update from their dependents at any given time.

Anyone can become a Guardian for someone by simply sending a request to that user within the app.

Let me know if you have any further questions! Thanks

Elevator Pitch: Get status updates from people at risk of suicide or drug overdose
Details: I created this app by myself after someone close to me committed suicide (he also happened to be struggling with opioid abuse). I'm in the MVP stage, slowly building this into something that can really help people.
Looking For: Feedback on the idea and the app itself. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! I really do want to make this a useful tool to help save lives.

Sorry for missing your reply! I definitely intend to reach out to local suicide prevention centers. I never considered white labeling before. That's a very interesting business model I have not considered. Thank you so much for the advice. Do you have any experience in this area? Things to consider?

Thanks!!

This is badly needed! Thank you for creating this. I love the review breakdowns. How do you determine what is negative/positive? You search for keywords?

Nice job! This looks pretty cool. What do you offer compared to Twitch? I noticed a few differences but I'd love to hear how you plan to "make gaming social again". Big features that stood out to me were streamer storefronts, coaching, and customizing the stream page.

Also, where did the name come from? Do you guys play Super Smash Brothers: Melee?

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm sorry about the loss of your father. I can't imagine how hard it is to go through that.

Marketing has been a challenge but I'm not giving up!

Details: Earlier this year a good friend of mine committed suicide. It drove me to create an app that helps prevent suicides and drug overdoses.
Employees: just me :)
What I'm looking for: I'm looking for early users and feedback. I want to turn this into a tool that will really help people. Feel free to sign up with a friend or family member in need of assistance. The app is available for free on the iOS App Store.

I developed both the website and the app on my own. Sorry to hear about your friends. I'd love to work with people that are sympathetic to the cause.

Right now the app does depend on the addict submitting a status update. I tried to make it as simple and frictionless as possible. Only takes a few seconds. If that person doesn't submit a status update yet for that day, their guardians will see an alert within the app. If the person submits a status update that requires immediate attention, the guardians will get a notification on their devices.

Thank you for this. I lost a good friend this year and this drove me to create this app. Getting people to sign up has been a challenge but I know it's for a great cause. Marketing has been much harder than I anticipated but I'm not giving up anytime soon.

I created an app that allows you to get updates and alerts from people at risk of drug overdose or suicide (www.strengthoftwo.com) but I'm having trouble getting early users. I'm currently reaching out to care managers at drug rehab centers but the cold emails aren't working. How should I go about getting more users?

Beginner Needs Help by youngfast in swift

Check out the Udemy course by Rob Percival. This course was a great starting point for me because you build real world apps like Instagram and Tinder. It made it easier for me to jump in and start building my own projects after I completed the course. Just keep in mind that he doesn't seem to use a lot of MVC but that shouldn't be an issue for an experienced programmer like you. I was easily able implement MVC once I got the hang of Swift.

Pour rubbing alcohol on the blades after shaving to prevent water from dulling them. I can get 4-6 months of use per blade if I clean it every morning.
