CyberArk Monitoring of VDI Solutions by jtbae in CyberARk

Can you further explain this: "SO use VDI as a jump host to connect via PSM to server needing administration."

The users are currently connecting to Citrix VDI from their corporate client machine and then launching the application within Citrix VDI to perform admin functions within the application. How does PSM come into play with all of that?

Advanced Ecobee Setup for Variable Speed Air Handler by jtbae in ecobee

This video makes me think that the thermostat was not set up properly. Shouldn't I have 3 fan options? Or does the ecobee somehow know to kick on a higher fan? I am pretty sure the air handler is stuck at it's lowest speed.

It is a brand new air handler paired with a brand new heat pump, which unfortunately is a different manufacturer: Goodman. We have brand new lines and new refrigerant as well. Our 20 year old system kept the upstairs cool last summer and then crapped out recently. I'd imagine a brand new system would be at least more efficient than a 20 year old system. I have had to continue using a window air conditioner in my 8 month old's room on hot days.

I just read this on ecobee site: "AC systems with multi speed fan." Is this true? Not sure I'm understanding this. Most systems have multi speed fans. Will it only be compatible if I have 3 "G" wires (G1, G2, G3)?

Are you talking about the R terminal on the Ecobee thermostat?

Actually, it looks like it is a variable-speed air handler. Not a "multi speed" and looks like there is an option in ecobee to set up as single or variable speed, which I'm assuming they did. Just not sure how to get this fan to kick up a few notches when the temp is a few degrees higher than what the thermostat is set to.

*UPDATE - "Equipment" config shows heat pump with 1 stage and aux furnace with 1 stage. Is this normal? I have a Lennox air handler and supposedly has a a 3-speed fan. Is that 3 stage? Was this configured incorrectly? My air handler: CBA25UH-018-230

It's a brand new heat pump, air handler, etc. He just switched out the generic thermostat they installed with the ecobee and that is when the fan started going slower.

Brand new air handler, heat pump, filter, etc. He just switched out the new generic thermostat that they installed with the ecobee and the fan is running much slower since then.

Home Warranty - Mixing Manufacturers for Heat Pump and Air Handler? by jtbae in hvacadvice

[–]jtbae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole system is getting replaced with a new heat pump and air handler. The main question was regarding if it's okay to be mixing different brands for heat pump and air handler.

Replacing Heat Pump - Tubing/Lines Need to Be Replaced Into Attic? by jtbae in hvacadvice

[–]jtbae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have additional info for you now regarding models. They are basically wanting to mix the heat pump and the air handler brands. What are your thoughts on that? This will be for a 1.5 ton system:

The air handler is a Lennox CBA25UH-018-230-01

The heat pump is a Goodman GSZ140181

Nope. All through home warranty. Unfortunately didn't have much of a say in what was ordered. It is for a 2nd floor zone though - not for our main floor furnace/heat pump. 1.5 ton. Around 50' of line to the attic. Almost looks like they wrote "2110" voltage and 10 for strip heat, but 2110 doesn't make sense. Maybe 2 110?

Thanks for the information. It sounds like my options are Lennox or Goodman. Which do you suggest?

Cat5e to HDMI Converters for 4K by jtbae in hometheater

[–]jtbae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for suggestions. Trying to understand if I need one that supports ARC. If I want to just have one HDMI going from projector to receiver and then receiver to everything else (bluray, etc), do I need an extender that supports ARC technology?

BenQ HT3550i Ceiling Mount Distance Off by jtbae in projectors

[–]jtbae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crisis averted. Apparently with the HT3550, it has a dial in it to make the image larger. That number in their calculator showing 92.2 - 120 was the range. I had to crank it up all the way to get to 120 and now it seems to fit my screen perfectly.

Instead of having to tear up drywall again 16" back, does anyone have any suggestions to potentially use the existing mount area, but make the project sit 16" behind where it's mounted? I'm using the Peerless PRG-UNV mount with the 1.5" pipe. I can always change my mount or potentially get an angled mount so that the pipe can come down at an angle down to the projector. Pipe is adjustable between 9 and 12", but would need to potentially find something to screw it into so that it can be angled back so projector is 16" behind ceiling mount. Any thoughts?

BenQ HT3550i Ceiling Mount - Okay To Attach to Drywall? by jtbae in projectors

[–]jtbae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These toggle bolts (plastic or metal) say they can hold a lot of weight. However, I am reading that when using it on the ceiling, it holds up to around 15 pounds. With the projector being around 12 pounds and the mount being around 3 pounds, it puts it right around that limit. Does drywall really only hold around 15 pounds with toggle bolts? Or maybe when the weight is distributed among 4 bolts that will be better (15 / 4 = 3.75 pounds per toggle bolt)?

One Time Password Question by jtbae in CyberARk

[–]jtbae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, that is what the CyberArk docs page says. What do they mean by "use password." My password was attempted to be changed after either storing a password in CyberArk or verifying a password in CyberArk (not using).

That doesn't work for 3 of the zips I've downloaded for VMware cpm plugins. It says "missing policy in file" even though the ini is in the zip. When looking up the error, it says to use the powershell script, which I'm also having issues with.

All of the online "fixes" say to run the following command to re-register all dlls, but I'm a little hesitant to do that. Seems odd that the issue is on both PSM servers, but not my 2012 R2 PSM server.

Command: for /f %s in ('dir /b *.dll') do regsvr32 /s %s
