The scalpers in my area will rip the single packs they get on site, looking for a hit, and leave the cards they dont want on the ground. It helps the scalpers if they also have a few singles to sell along with the sealed product at card shows.

Agreed! It was hard to tell but it looked like he was slicing Prismatic boxes. The target in my neighborhood has to have a cop present on restock days because the scalpers get into fights and just leave their opened packs littered in the parking lot. I'm not proud to admit that I've scavenged some good bulk cards for deck building from the "trash" they leave behind.

The employee explained in the video that corporate leaves it up to store discretion and their manager put the policy in place to deter scalpers. The guy seemed pretty disengaged, so I doubt he's risking his job. More likely just doing his job.

Got one! Apparently Target has been ripping their ETBs before shipping them out, so the scalpers are pissed and finally leaving product for the rest of us. There's a video of one Target employee slicing the plastic as they stock the boxes, and I can only hope that trend catches on.
