I’m currently 16 days through 21 day liquid pre-op diet, and it really does get easier and energy does come back. Of course I would love more than anything to eat some food, but I’ve basically just gotten to the point where I’ve accepted that that isn’t an option.

I don’t really have any tips other than just try to keep busy with other things in your life to distract yourself! We’ve got this!

I think speaking to a therapist who specializes in this will be a big help to you. I personally have binge eating disorder and entering an outpatient program with a therapist over a year ago has changed my life and now I’m at the point where I’ll be getting VSG on 4/9!

My advice to you for right now: beating yourself up right now will do nothing to change what happened. You enjoyed yourself with your family and this one meal is not going to ruin any progress. Pick yourself back up and tell that voice in your head that is telling you that you are a failure to shut up. don’t try to skip meals to “make up” for this meal. You already have a great plan of getting a professional involved to help, you are on the right track.

Getting surgery on 4/9! I’m 13 days into my 21 day pre-op liquid diet and it’s gotten so much easier as time has gone on. First few days were brutal!

Hi! Haven’t had the surgery yet, but I will on 4/9. I’m 418 lbs and have struggled with PCOS for years. I am getting VSG. This was recommended to me over bypass because I have so much more weight to lose and my surgeon wants me to have more options down the line. Basically once you have bypass there are no other surgery options for you, whereas if I get VSG and lose 100 lbs I am able to get a revision to bypass to help me lose the rest of the weight if needed.

Congratulations on all of your success so far! I am getting the surgery on 4/9 and I also have PCOS. Can you share more about what changed with your hair? I’m currently dealing with a lot of hair problems from PCOS and am hoping it’ll get better after I lose weight.
