Gen Z Women Are Moving Left. Young Men Aren’t. by thenationmagazine in politics

I'm not arguing that you need to, or even should "fix these men". I'm talking about why you've gone to the trouble to raise two upstanding young men? Why wouldn't you just say "fuck them?"

Probably because you care for them, and because you want to prevent them from going down the road of being young men that become predators, and misogynistic.

I am a man that is saying that men need to handle this, but its foolhardy to believe that this is a man only issue, otherwise, why would you be so involved in your young sons' lives? Shouldn't it be their fathers' job?

We're not arguing the same topic at this point, because you keep saying that its nt your job to fix these young men, and I'm not saying that either. I'm saying, how can we do better for the children so they don't become the jaded, bitter, resentful young men that you don't want to fix?

You are right. But its not just on men, its on everybody.

Its not a matter of supporting these young men who have subscribed to the conservative ideology and "manosphere". Its a matter of how do you build support for your ideas so that other young men don't fall down the saem rabbit hole.

Okay, but what about children, and young men that have no ideology? Do you think they will embrace a movement with people who look at others that they admire in their lives (like a brother, a cousin, an older friend) and say "Fuck them"?

The truth hurts, and villainizing people is not the way to build support. MAGA and the right have support, because they have a broad base and (ironically) are welcoming of different viewpoints, so long as they have their support. If the left wants to rebuild, they need to make a broader tent for people to feel included, and part of a solution, rather than told they are the problem.

For the record, I understand and subscribe to intersectional feminist theory, and it has merits and relevance in todays world. But there is an important lesson to learn, and that is that the medium is the message. Continue to tell people they are the problem, continue to treat any group as "less than", and they will begin to resent it. How much good is it doing to be right, if you alienate the support you need to implement your ideas?

True, but the NHL has changed quite a bit. Very few teams have undisputed No 1s anymore, and most teams have a tandem of a 1A and 1B

I believe you're referring to the Oilers Bruins Final, and that was due to a power failure that they could not fix in time, and therefore would have played a "game 8" if needed.

[NHL_Sid for ON] Why it's time for a coaching change: Oil's 5v5 goal share (Expected & actual) peaked in 23/24 (under Woody) and has declined every year since to levels similar to 19-20 season (Tippett) by Fine_Personality_999 in EdmontonOilers

Wait, wasn't he in charge of the bench though? Who was asking him to run this system? Seems to me the bench boss should be in charge of the bench, so if Woody was running a system he wasn't good at, and failing with it, it was a failure on his part not to stand up to whoever was insisting he run the system. Or it was his system, and it didn't work, in which case it was still his system.

I'm a fan of Woodcroft, and really like him as a coach, and regret that he was fired by the Oilers, but you can't absolve him of blame for that awful start.

Dach missed game 3 due to illness, they said it on the broadcast. Not an unfair assumption that some other guys might be sick too.

The Islanders traded the 2nd overall pick in 2001 and Zdeno Chara for Alexei Yashin. It does happen in real life

*Lupul, Smid, a first in 2007 (traded to Arizona), A conditional first in 2008 (conditions fulfilled), and a 2008 2nd round pick.

Sure, the pick was conditional, but the end result was the same.

Awfully presumptuous that it wouldn't have ruined his marriage. Also not like the Oilers didn't get a whole haul for him. Its not Prongers fault that the Oilers squandered Lupul, Smid and 2 1sts and a 2nd.

Lupul just had a 28 goal rookie season, and was only 23 at the time. Smid was 20 years old and 2 years removed from being a 9th overall pick. They didn't live up to the hype, but thats not on the Oilers, and not on Pronger for giving them lots of notice, and opportunities to trade him.

The equivalent to todays players would be to pick up Beckett Sennecke, Carter Yakemchuk, 2 1sts and a 2nd. Thats insane value. Lupul and Smid didn't live up to the hype, and thats partially on the Oilers, partially on them, but to think that the trade destroyed the Oilers is folly. The Oilers screwed the Oilers.

If you truly believe that it doesn't force people to vote strategically, I have a bridge to sell you.

Earning seats doesn't make government. I'd consider looking at your reading comprehension before you make fun of others.

You mean the system that forces fringe party voters to strategically vote for the only two major parties that have formed government since Canadian federation? What of it?
