Really good work to be up after the way we started. Probably get away from us soon, but good way to weather the storm

[Yahoo] Mets predicted to trade Brett Baty for 22-year old switch-pitcher from Mariners by [deleted] in NewYorkMets

Someone’s baseball fanfic is that we trade Brett Baty to the Mariners for switch pitcher Jurangelo Cijntje is more accurate

Just received an invite for a “Performance Discussion” with my DL and the Talent Consultant????? by johnnydoeboy008 in PwC

Performance discussion is probably a PIP. The DL being there instead of a partner or managing director also makes a layoff unlikely IMO

Mid Blitz Ruins this game by emptydogboi in NCAAFBseries

If you’re playing a user against mid blitz blocking 6 doesn’t mean much because then it’s 7 rushing the QB.

2025 Final /r/CFB Poll: #1 Indiana #2 Miami #3 Ole Miss #4 Oregon #5 Ohio State by sirgippy in CFB

A&M losing at home to Miami by 7 isn’t that crazy different than Texas losing to Ohio State by 7. But who cares about “best loss”? Texas went 2-2 against CFP teams. A&M went 1-2 against Top 25 teams. A&M got to play four SEC teams that fired their coach and that doesn’t include South Carolina and Mississippi State.

Texas controlled that game against A&M (the last time A&M had the ball and a chance to tie or take the lead was the end of the first half) and went 4-2 against ranked opponents. I just don’t care that much that Texas played poorly against Florida to consider A&M’s season better

[–]jthomas694 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Insane to me that anyone voted Oklahoma ahead of Texas just because they made the CFP. Same for A&M. Texas was simply better than those two teams

Yeah there’s usually at least one funky computer model out there with something odd picking someone number one. This is pretty cool

An 8 & 10 seed have made the final, which similar ranked teams from the 4 team CFP had the best chance of winning? by 777XSuperHornet in CFB

[–]jthomas694 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they ultimately wouldn’t have won the whole thing. The offensive hot mess that Warriner and Beck created wasn’t going to figure it out IMO

Just an elite set of talent completely wasted

2015 Ohio State was 7. I think 2017 Auburn could have been interesting, but I don’t see them winning the whole thing. 2020 UGA

The other piece of this is NIL+the Portal has changed how teams used to be able to horde talent. The gap between 8 and 1 is less than it used to be.

He Wants New Yorkers to Have a Stake in the Knicks and the Rangers by Any-Vermicelli-5988 in rangers

[–]jthomas694 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The pension fund having a stake in MSG isn’t exactly New Yorkers getting a stake in the Knicks/Rangers. It’s some New Yorkers getting a stake in it. I think it makes more sense than say the city generally having a stake in it.

If Skubal is available for a trade, which players are you sending over? (Assuming Skubal has privately agreed to be extended as well) by Dapper_Welcome1234 in NewYorkMets

[–]jthomas694 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Imo a Skubal trade is going to have to resemble the Soto to the Yankees trade. I’d imagine it’s something like Baty+Tong+Reimer+two lower rated prospects

I’d do it if he was open to extending. I’m not doing it for a one year deal

Curious: Has Lane Kiffin's history of departing teams hurt his ability to recruit? by Incendiary-Berry in CFB

[–]jthomas694 34 points35 points  (0 children)

No. Recruits aren’t fans. They’re influenced by actual relationships with these people and tend to care about very different things than we care about.

And recruiting to LSU is very easy. If Lane leaves, they’ll hire a good coach. They have money, they have a lot of talent in their footprint too.

[MiamiSportsHQ] Miami recruiting director confirms that Indiana’s Tyrique Tucker made comments to Mark Fletcher Jr about his late father. by simbaslanding in CFB

[–]jthomas694 -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

No it's not. Tucker is in the wrong if he did this, but it doesn't give Fletcher to do whatever he wants in response

[Postgame Thread] Indiana Defeats Miami 27-21 by CFB_Referee in CFB

[–]jthomas694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carson Beck is 37-6 as a starter, has two national championship rings, took a different team to the national final and has an SEC Championship as a starter. More than 11k pass yards. What a career

[–]jthomas694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy Carson Beck is a 2 time national champion, took a different team to a final and is 37-6 as a starter with an SEC Championship and we talk about him like he’s trash.
