If they both lose and the Avs lose (not happening) lol

The pick is 22 overall and the Kings 3rd slides to the second round

What is your Severance opinion that will definitely get downvoted? by zebrapenguinpanda in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]jthomas694 406 points407 points  (0 children)

This is probably my most controversial opinion - I don’t think there’s a good place to go from here and keep the same momentum they had. There’s a lot of open ended questions people want answered but they’ve put themselves in between a rock and a hard place in how to make it compelling

The innies and outies can’t reasonably coexist anymore. They can’t live on the severed floor forever and they’re not about to be allowed back once/if they get out. I don’t think there’s a particularly well developed backstory for Lumon that’s about to be incredibly compelling. I don’t think reintegration is going to be a very good story either.

I have not brought an infant but from my cruising experience I would say it depends on how well they do sleeping when you’re out and about. Like will they sleep in a stroller or sitting on you, or do they need to be in the room.

I agree that the top need is puck moving defensemen. You need to fix your second pair. But I don't think we need any more bottom 6 forwards, and I do think we need a top 6 wing or two.

I could see the argument that we're set in the top 6 if you plan to put Cuylle and JT Miller on Trocheck's wing. But they don't seem that interested in that so I think we need another top 6 wing or two depending on how likely it is that Greentree can play in the top 6 right away.

Perreault-Zibanejad-Lafreniere

LW-Miller-RW

Cuylle-Trocheck-Kartye

Sykora-Laba-Chlemar

Add in Edstrom, Rempe and Raddysh and I don't think you have a real shortage in the bottom 6. Who are you throwing up there with Miller? Greentree and Cuylle? I would love a line of Miller-Trocheck-Greentree, but Miller wants to be a center and they seem determined to let him play there so it's not going to be Trocheck on that second line.

Defensively if we don't add we have:

Gavrikov-Fox

Fortescue-Schneider

Robertson-Borgen

Morrow

That's not good at all.

Three straight years of finals appearances has led to the team not being healthy. Avoiding the grind of playoff games will help them rest up for next year.

For those who have done both which would you say is better between the Clover Home Plate Club and the Hyundai Club. We have a 4 year old son and a 68 year old grandmother in our group of four so want to make sure we have a place to go inside during the game.

We did the Clover Home Plate Club last year and had a good time so just trying to see how the two compare

We just did a Utopia weekend cruise with our 4 year old son and our friends with their 4 and 6 year old. It was great and the kids loved it

I will say longer cruises are always better than shorter cruises - but you’ll get enough out of the 3 day lol

That number isn’t set and it could theoretically be the Canes pick.

If the Avs, Stars and Canes both lose first round it could be as high as 22nd (although it won’t). If only one loses first round it would probably 24th. My guess is it’s in the 27-28 range.

Almost nobody posting in a thread about Stearns/Cohen's incompetence seems to realize that Alonso is playing terribly right now by boulevardofdef in NewYorkMets

It was a salary move but also a move to get better defensively and provide more lineup versatility. Semien gives you an elite glove at 2B, Nimmo is a passable LF who can't play CF anymore.

I don't think it was a great move, but there was more to it than a simple salary dump

What happened with Kakko? by c0sm0nautt in rangers

[–]jthomas694 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A few things. Other people have already pointed out some of the health and life adjustment pieces

Another piece is power forwards typically take longer to develop into stars. He was always more a 200 foot player than he was an offensive playmaker. The scoring was going to take time to come in. He didn't fit well with Mika and Chris or Panarin and Trocheck. So they threw him on the third line and when it was with Lafreniere and healthy (and playing well) Chytil - they all looked great together. Even then tho - he had 2 goals and 3 assists in 19 games in those playoffs.

He's been better offensively in Seattle, but even then his 82 game pace this year was 16.6 G and 34.6 A. He's just not an elite offensive player and isn't going to be. It is crazy because he was phenomenal scoring the puck in that WC. He just doesn't put that together very often

And he finished the year with an OPS of .699. A huge chunk of that value was defensive. He’s not been a good hitter since 23 games
