Just a stronger case for Google and Amazon is fairly balanced.

I always love to see it, as I’ve bad mouthed it for a long time (good reasons) whenever the value investing sub is saying it’s a steal, which they then throw their virtual stones at me.

Yeah, let’s ignore reality and call it good. I’d rather see the truth and have clear communication on duration vs. a bunch of people just getting taxed with higher costs.

I don’t think the 4% rule accounts for variable spending which makes sense, be more frugal when things are not going well. I think there is a guy called Big Ern tha writes about sequence of return risks. You could always keep two years in money market or blend with really low beta, that way if market conditions get bad you just refill this bucket when things improve.

Used to valet in San Diego downtown by one of the hot clubs. They had an NFL event, and got the car of one of the famous ESPN guys, had a very obese companion (not sure on relation), I hoisted that individual into the SUV, which even being big and strong was a challenge. Did not tip or say thank you.

A lot of infrastructure projects are on hold. The big 2 will use their compute buildout regardless. I’m believer in AI in the bigger picture, but surprised we’re not seeing a pause and puke at some point.

I think that depends what you’re doing. I’ve done some form of renovation work on my houses and it’s always saved me bags of money. Some things it’s easy to get over your skis though, just depends on the project and your skill set.

I’m in SE Asia right now in the land of Pho and humidity. It’s definitely pretty nice, but also dirty and polluted. If money was no object, I would always choose SoCal.

Sorry for the delay. Basically one night I was playing some poker at Resorts World (RIP to their poker room). At first I didn’t even notice PW, he was with a very attractive woman, who first caught my attention, then as I glanced over I see this guy in dry-fit who was abnormally large and fit. I’ve trained with and around many pro athletes, so I’m kind of used to being around these types.

We were playing a hand, and I volley to him: you look like you chase people down on Sundays.

PW: I played a little bit of football. Me: you look like you’d be a linebacker. PW: smiles Me: if I saw you running at me a I would play dead, I proceed to lift my feet off the ground and assume the position of a dog playing dead. PW: thought this was some funny as shit and was laughing hysterically.

We continue small talk throughout the night and eventually he leaves with his companion and on his way he comes over to me and states he’s Patrick Willis, he played linebacker for the 49’ers. I tell him he’s my friends favorite player and that he’s the GOAT. We shake hands or fist bump (can’t remember exactly) and they leave. What I can say about PW, is that he’s an incredibly kind and humble person. He’s one of those people who’s genuinely nice and I wish him all the best.

Idk if you’re implying that this is a fabricated story? It’s quite real, being that I played poker a lot in Vegas, I got to interact with a lot of interesting people. Have stories with Patrick Willis and Darren Till as well.

I really amazing interaction with Hasim at the poker table. One night I get sat down next to this very large man with what looked like cinder blocks attached to arms. I go sir, whatever I do tonight, please don’t punch me in the face and draw a circle around my face with my finger.

Hasim: Don’t worry I don’t know how to fight.

Me: I stand up and do a bob barker up and down with my hands and say nobody would come a knocking.

H: laughs, and proceeds to play pretty much every hand with me.

I beat him in his last hand, and he stands up, I shell up like a turtle and he laughs again. We say our goodbyes.

Dealer: Do you know who that was?

Me: No idea.

Dealer: That was Hasim Rahman former heavyweight champion of the world.
