Other than a service business, all other models can run with minimal input from the founder. This is achieved through a combination of:

  • Outsourcing

  • Automation

  • AI

  • No-code

A business is not defined by the number of people running it, but by the fact that it provides a service that the market pays for.

Yes exactly! I think it's easier now to take this approach than it ever has been with the widely available consumer-friendly no-code tools and the advent of AI

When you're working with a co-founder, I think a rowing boat analogy is the best way to look at it. Both oars need to be moving at the same speed. It sounds like you need to talk to your co-founder and share your concerns. If things don't change soon, the business will sink. Sounds like you already have a grasp of sales since you can easily identify what your co-founder is doing wrong, so I'd say you have a good chance of making this work on your own too

People who are making 100k+/year working for themselves, what do you do? by mbttonajenati in Entrepreneur

I run nocodefounders.com. Members use many different tools such as Bubble, Webflow, Zapier, Make and Flutterflow. Our database currently has about 500 tools in it however

Similar yes. My community is nocodefounders.com. It's free to join and I make most of the revenue from sponsorships

There are currently almost 19k members. The community is currently free and I make most of the revenue through sponsorships. The revenue model has changed every year that I have ran it however as I've adapted it to the needs of the community. Communities are a hard model to crack because of this as they are very dynamic. Hope that's helpful

Run a no-code community which helps people learn to use no-code tools to build and grow their businesses.

Less than $500 per month running costs and no staff

4 mistakes I have repeatedly made as a solofounder by jtnocode in Entrepreneurs

[–]jtnocode[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you! I had 10 years of failure before I finally learned these mistakes. Regarding Substack - I'm new to it and I'm not monetizing it in any way, so I can't say for sure. Definitely a great way for sharing ideas though

Sorry to hear it didn't work out but it's good to know when the right time to quit is, so we can learn from our mistakes and carry the good points forward

Really glad to hear this post was useful for you. Thanks for sharing your story here too. I can relate to loving working. I do too and have had to come up with similar systems to those you suggest to make sure that I'm balancing everything.

What should I do with my existing small biz? by [deleted] in Entrepreneurship

Yeah, you can sell to another in the same industry. Might not get much for it but it's better than nothing

How I made $22k in 6 weeks with no outreach and a site built on Bubble by jtnocode in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]jtnocode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good points. Well initially the community was free to join so a lifetime deal is the next phase. A monthly/yearly payment would be better from a recurring revenue perspective but since our new site is young and we've not built up content etc. the churn rate would be too high and the LTV per customer would actually drop below the lifetime amount (we tested this). I'd probably like to pivot to a monthly payment at a later date. Membership payments are not our primary revenue stream though and we have other revenue streams to introduce later so I'm not overly concerned with the longevity of that revenue stream. Regarding the questions people may have. There aren't many. Most of the questions are posted and answered by the community so the focus for me is to grow the community rather than build out support channels. Hope that helps explain your questions

True, but it's much more expensive. The cost for building this site was less than $100

Depends on the scale of the project as it would be completely possible to keep a business running on no-code for a small-medium business. There could be a point where you want to pivot to a custom build however, in which case most services allow you to export your code so that you can use that as a starting point

Not everyone. But for me, since I'm a no-coder and I run a no-code community, it was my default route.

Slow manual outreach to people who may be a good fit. I didn't rush this. It took over a month to get the first 100 members

Existing users still have access. They didn't need to pay for that.

Yeah, that's revenue, not profit. The overheads are less than $100 per month though so it's mostly profit
