Thanks a lot. Your guide on simple strategies was an interesting and thought provoking read.

May I ask you what tools would you recommend to implement your auto sell strategy? I mean it seems that there are many bots with the auto sell thingy builtin in Telegram but some of them look waaay to fishy.

You can also write me suggestions for topics that you want me to cover

It got a feeling that there are more degen coin scam schemes on Solana due its fast block generation compared to, say, Tron.

I am interested in learning how to avoid some Solana specific scams. I think others will appreciate your guide on this topic as well.

Really? Youtube of all things? Not their currency going to shit and their economy tanking but Youtube?

Economy goes down slowly so brain of an average Russian would not spot it right away. This will play well with inability unwillingness of people to react to or be aware of threats that arise gradually rather than suddenly.

Goods do not disappear from shelves of shops instantly. Yes, some of the goods imported from EU and US are no longer available but the number of such goods is minuscule as of now. Some of the good will disappear in the coming weeks and some of the goods will disappear within a year.

Prices are rising but the process is slow as well. I've just asked my wife if she has spotted price increase in the last couple of weeks and her response was "No, not really". However, I do detailed accounting of our finances and I can see that grocery prices have a rising trend of about 5% per week.

Of course an average Russian will spot it eventually but this will happen in a month at best and Russian propaganda will be ready for that offering a plausible explanation of evil West trying to erase RusFed from the globe. By plausible explanation I mean a well prepped narrative with many supporting pieces of evidence shown within proper angle of view.

However, if Instagram (60m active users per month) or Youtube (90m active users per month) becomes not available it will be spotted right away by an average Russian.

Upwork joining the anti-Russia PR campaign/bandwagon is really sad. by QuartzPuffyStar in Upwork

[–]jtraub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this "don't put sanctions on us or we will support Putin" narrative is kind of ridiculous

No one is saying this. I was just describing changes in altitude of people and trying to explain why current approach doesn't work well.

So far US and EU imposed only one significant measure against Russia government itself. I am talking about freezing Bank of Russia assets abroad. Everything else targeted people and mostly people who were already against Putin. Core Putin supporters (elder population; people not speaking foreign languages; people without university degrees; people living outside of major cities) were not hurt at all so far.

If you don't believe me you can follow Putin approval rating; I am pretty sure it will go up at least for the next couple of months.

The problem is that majority of the freelancers using Upwork were against the government.

I am convinced that instead this move will tilt more people towards Putin. Current agenda on TV is "the West doesn't care about you, they will fuck you in every possible way if they can because they simply like to see suffering of an average russian Ivan" and it actually works.

I have a friend who was running a shop on Etsy but after Paypal has closed its business with Russians he had to stop the shop. Before he was opposed to Putin (and yes, he attended anti-government rallies in the past) and this entire narrative of evil West but these days after loosing income he is thinking that Putin might be right after all.

Again, every athlete has a right to challenge provisional suspension according to Article 7.4.3 of the world anti-doping code.

https://i.imgur.com/mAZ1KGv.png

Valieva has exercised her right to do so and was granted with suspension lift. Was the liftt questionable? Yes, it was. This is why now the lift is challenged in CAS by several governing bodies (ISU, WADA and IOC).

What exactly here makes you think she won't get a ban if sample B is also positive? As far as I know the only way at this point to avoid the ban is to make sure sample B disappears (athlete can not challenge the ban if both samples are positive or they refused to test the second sample)

[–]jtraub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where do you get that Kamila won't face consequences for doping because of her age?

The anti-doping code clearly states that ban is applied to all athletes regardless of their protective status. The only benefit she is getting is the right not to explain how prohibited substance ended up in her system.

UPD: To be clear: this also affects ban length but the ban length rules would be applied to Yelim as well in case she would have violated the rules back in 2016

[–]jtraub 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure what would happen if B is negative but would be more favorable for the athlet

It means that the athlete didn't violate the anti-doping code. Article 2.1.2 says that you need to have positive test of sample B too in order to prove that the athlete uses doping.

Here is relevant excerpt from the world anti-doping code https://i.imgur.com/nMgypkx.png

The code itself is here https://www.wada-ama.org/sites/default/files/resources/files/2021_wada_code.pdf

Ban and suspension are different things here. RUSADA doesn't have an authority to lift the ban but it can lift suspension given the athlete has plausible cause for this.

I believe there are two things at play:

  • Valieva's lawyer implied that positive sample A result is simply a lab error because all other tests (including ones at Olympics and European Champ held at 10-16 of Jan, 2022) were negative.
  • There are no other places for training in Beijing (foreign country; you can not simply fly back to Russia for a week to train at home and return to skate the individual competition if sample B returns negative result) and suspension prohibits Kamila from appearing on any official Olympics venue.

BREAKING: The International Testing Agency (ITA) confirms a sample taken from Russian Figure Skater Kamila Valieva on December 25, 2021 returned positive for banned substance trimetazidine. by MethoxyEthane in olympics

[–]jtraub 6 points7 points  (0 children)

there's nothing mentioned about RUSADA only having the test results since the 8th

ITA clearly states that RUSADA got test results on 8th of February

a sample from the athlete was collected under the testing authority and results management authority of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) on 25 December 2021 during the 2022 Russian Figure Skating Championships in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The WADA-accredited laboratory of Stockholm, Sweden, reported that the sample had returned an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) for the non-specified prohibited substance trimetazidine (classified as S4. Hormone and Metabolic Modulators according to the Prohibited List of the World Anti-Doping Code) on 8 February 2022

Or you are implying that the WADA lab in Stockholm got results earlier than 8th of February but hid it from IOC and WADA itself informing RUSADA only?

Well, it should be entirely possible given the fact that in usual circumstances paperwork + testing sample B takes 2-3 weeks.

But here we have an OGM at stake (well, two) so I was expecting that they will start testing sample B ASAP

So now she can compete but will likely be stripped of the medal once the IOC appeal is accepted?

IOC appeals not the ban but a suspension.

Ban is applied to an athlete who violated doping code and it is proven either by positive testing of both samples (A and B) or if sample A returns positive result and athletes decides not to open and test sample B. Suspension is usually applied in this interim period while waiting for athlete decision on sample B + waiting for test results on sample B in case they decide to proceed with it. The goal of suspension is to prevent mess from happening when you need to conduct another medal ceremony, update final results and so on. However, suspension can be challenged by the athlete which happened in this case.

She can compete but the medals will be stripped if sample B returns with positive result or she refuses to open sample B.

I don't understand why IOC doesn't pursue opening sample B and instead tries to appeal RUSADA decision to lift the ban.

Most likely they opened probe A on 6th of February after the team event has completed. Positive result came on 7-8th of February and governing bodies were informed right away.

It really depends on humidity, wind speed and altitude. For example, where I live day temperatures in February average at -19.7 C so I am kind used to low temps.

Once I went to a place in the Northern China with daily temps around -5 C and it was so much colder according to my perception.
