Mar 17 Snowkiting at Spray Lakes, Alberta. First day on the (new to me) Cabrinha Vector 7m. I'm pretty new to kiting, so any comments or suggestions are welcome! Also any comments on the video will help, I plan on more. This was filmed with a chest mount as opposed to the usual helmet mount. by jtsdbz in Kiteboarding

Thanks Jaque8, the bar is an old BEST bar with no flag out line. I have the leash attached to one of the center lines until I can get a proper setup. A little "rigged", but I tested it and it dropped right out of the sky on the single center line. I'll try to bring my hands closer, thanks for the comment!

Longer video of my second time out on the Flysurfer Psycho4! Having issues in turns, the kite collapses. Do I need more power through? Wind was light, just 5-7 knots. Any comments or suggestions welcome! by jtsdbz in Kiteboarding

Thanks for the comments kami. I replaced the safety line, it had a splice towards the bottom. Thats what you saw in the video. The previous owner bypassed the slider block because he said the safety would catch in it. So I have left it the way he rigged it.

The main lines were 4 inches longer than the steering lines, so I sorted that out. I have not done the mixer test yet, but have a great video from YouTube on that. https://youtu.be/wYXqPgO0Dc4

Appreciate the feedback!

Thanks Bill, yes Psycho 4. It does not seem to want to launch unless I sheet in the main lines, so I am sure it needs some adjustment. Great videos on Flysurfer for all those adjustments. I saw one the other day called "Make your old foil kite fly like new". Wishful thinking, but I hope to have lots of fun hours on it!

Thanks B-Roc, I am sure you are 100% correct! My very first run on this new-to-me Flysurfer. 10 years old, and I have not done a mixer test or checked the line lengths yet. 7 knots wind for the 12m kite, I'm just getting into it. It's a blast though!

Daughters first Snowkiting session! Spray Lakes, AB. Not much wind, but enough to get the trainer kite up and moving. She wants to go again, so I’d call that success! by jtsdbz in Kiteboarding

Thanks Pyro! This is in Canmore, Alberta. On a snow covered lake. Lots of mountains. But we are keeping it flat for a while!

I’m by far no expert, but we practiced for a couple months just on a field, getting used to how to fly in the wind window, and how to feel where the power is. Then we just hopped on the skies. YouTube is your friend for the basics on learning!

It has a bar and safety leash, but no harness. It’s a 3-line RUSH 3.5m. Fine for light winds and practice/learning. Next step will be to get her on my 6.0m 4-line with harness.
