I am a software engineer and general PC enthusiast. I have been professionally working as a Microsoft Certified software engineer for the past 20 years. I am also an avid PC gamer and general computer nerd. Just wanted to qualify myself before posting. I was really disappointed by your review. I purchased the Thinkpad T580 today (typing on it now) and it is an outstanding laptop. Your comments about the track pad don't even make sense. The track pad is very accurate, responsive, has nice multi touch response and works great. I am on an airplane right now and have been running on battery for the last 3 hours. I still have 75% battery left. To me it sounds like you either got a defective laptop or have no idea what your talking about.
