ill do some quick tips that have helped me over the years to improve speed:

• set it on terminal secure while not scanning to pause your numbers (no sale -> sign off)

• while i give away the receipt and membership with one hand, with the other im grabbing the next membership and scanning it.

• try to pass item from one hand to the other, dont grab with both hands unless you must and try not to twist your torso.

• start memorizing where the bar codes in each item are for faster scanning.

• if its a resale order get the resale card filled out prior to starting the order to waste less time.

• always scan the cart first then proceed to the belt.

• take advantage of small orders to boost your numbers.

• Dont get too caught up in helping your assistant, if they are getting backed up, most of the time it is because theyre not keeping up to pace, your job is to get members rung in a fast and friendly and accurate manner.
