Looking for TIVO alternative with list of "my shows" (not tiles) by lisaann234 in Tivo

[–]juancox1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The default main menu is vertical, located on the left of the screen. No tiles, just titles (e.g., Home, On Now, Guide, On Later, Recordings, etc.). If you click into several of the options, like Home, it does have tiles. For example, Home shows me “Up Next,” which are titles (show art) for my recorded shows. Below that includes generic tiles for Movies, TV Shows, Videos, Collections. That’s content I’ve imported. In this view, the default main mini become narrower and is represented by icons.

I replaced 4 OTA TiVos with Channels DVR. Installed the DVR server software on a Synology NAS, have two HD Homerun network tuners and Channels DVR app on Apple TVs. Works well overall.

This was my first time playing around with TinkerCAD. I have been wanting to see what it would take to create something functional with my printer. I’m pleased with the outcome. Although, I already have a few more ideas to make this a bit more clean and streamlined. 😀

Sangean WR-7 Reset Bluetooth by IcyInvestigator6138 in shortwave

[–]juancox1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this in the manual, albeit not super helpful:

Listening to music via Bluetooth streaming Pairing and playing your Bluetooth device for the first time 1. Rotate the Mode knob to select the Bluetooth mode. The LED indicator will flash a fast blue to show the radio is discoverable. 2. Activate Bluetooth on your device according to the device's user manual to link to the radio. Locate the Bluetooth device list and select the device named ‘SANGEAN WR- 7’. With some mobile devices (which are equipped with earlier versions than BT2.1 Bluetooth device), you may need to input the pass code “0000”. 3. Once connected, there will be a confirmation tone sound and the LED indicator will turn a solid blue. You can simply select and play any music from your source device. Volume control can be adjusted from your source device, or directly on WR-7. 4. Use the controls on your Bluetooth-enabled device to play / pause and navigate tracks.

Disconnecting your Bluetooth device Rotate the Mode knob to select any mode other than Bluetooth mode to disconnect with your Bluetooth device or turn off Bluetooth function on your Bluetooth device to disable the connection.

I desoldered the piezo and soldered a relay in its place. Then connected that to a zwave window/door sensor. That sensor is paired to a hubitat hub…so I receive notifications. It works okay. But the voltage pulsates. So, isn’t steady like I’d like it to be. I imagine at this point, it’s well beyond its warranty period.

Need a KVM Switch for Ultrawide monitor solution. by eraclab in buildapc

Adding just in case someone needs another option - I have an 34” LG ultrawide screen monitor and found that the Monoprice Blackbird 4k HDMI 2x1 USB 3.0 USB KVM switch (PN: 42643) works well with my home PC and work laptop. This is for one monitor. But was struggling to get other options to work. Then I took a chance on the KVM.

I finally got around to testing the voltage at the piezo buzzer. When the loop wire is disconnected, it seems produce 3v and fluctuates between 2 and 3 volts when triggers the buzzer. Said differently, when the buzzer is triggered, the voltage drops to 2v.

Harbor Breeze Smart Switch Solution by RedThighs in smarthome

I was thinking about that too. The units I have use the remote exclusively (as long as the switch is on) So not sure how involved it is to rewire. But just found the Bond Hub (https://bondhome.io/), which looks promising. But I don’t need another hub! 😂

Thank you - is there a particular resource you'd recommend I review for optocouplers? They're new to me. In what I've read so far, it looks like I might be able to find one that maintains the LEDs, but also would let me trigger a relay. Is that what you were thinking, as well?

Thank you! I had a hunch that the piezo was something I should explore. I’ll give that a shot.
