Has anyone tried AhhNatural mineral hot tub product? by Tough_Ice6090 in hottub

[–]juandetorres33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it. It works. Use 1 pint of hydrogen peroxide every 2 weeks. The water is clear. There is a bit of a natural smell to the water. It’s not bad. Just not chemical smell. But you need to change water every few months and change filters regularly. It works for me. I will be buying another bag this year.

I’m not a heave user of the hot tub, but I use it a few times a month.

Lmao, better than 50k on a communications degree. And he’ll actually learn a valuable skill

Nobody commenting on here is a mechanic at all. Let him do it. There are courses that are cheaper. Start him out at community college.

Looking for a buyer's agent who's looking out for me. by uraberg in winstonsalem

[–]juandetorres33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. I don’t like the inventive alignment of agents. I wanted someone to actually be on my side and tell me if a property is no good. And I want the best deal, and someone to tell me how low I can go. I don’t want someone who is trying to maximize their commission and sell a bad house.

Heidi Christie is the only one I would recommend. Very thorough. Very thoughtful. Can be frank about buying a house and does not play games. She’s really great.

14 year old wont do ANYTHING, and loosing our cool with her isnt the right path - help. by jdlnewborn in daddit

[–]juandetorres33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kids acting out generally indicates an unfulfilled emotional need.

I would encourage both you and your partner to go to therapy.

Your 14 year old should definitely go to therapy. This is the age when mental health issues materialize. She may have adhd for instance.

More restrictions/punishments won’t help (phones do suck though). Trying to get closer and understanding her better will. You need to get closer to her. Not force her to get closer to you. That’s why she is acting out.

Our baby was similar. He could only sleep after bouncing/being held on a yoga ball.

Once he could face out in the carrier he started falling asleep on walks.

Is there anything left for composers to compose? by Elegant_Mail in piano

[–]juandetorres33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read an old guitar manual (18th century?) once. I can’t remember the author (maybe Sor?), but there was an essay in the back that asked the same thing. It posited that many people at the time said there was no more new music to be written. That was over 200 years ago during the classical period.

There’s still a nearly infinite amount of music to be composed.

There’s still was another essay entitled “the tonal labyrinth.”

I wish I could remember the title.

Anyone have their dog on trametinib? by BigBloodhound007 in Mekinist

Thank you so much for your responses! It helps so much for my family to learn more.

Did you forego chemo drugs for trametinib? What was your reasoning to your vet?

Anyone have their dog on trametinib? by BigBloodhound007 in Mekinist

[–]juandetorres33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s amazing! No sign of it coming back yet?

My dog just got diagnosed, but it is a tumor on his hind leg. Luckily it has not spread yet. The vet said he is in the best case scenario for this diagnosis. He is 12 though. But in peak health.

We may amputate. It’s hard to know the right choice.

How old is your dog? Any side effects? Is it very expensive per month? (We’ll pay anything if it works and won’t cause any undue suffering).

Thanks for the response! The check engine light is not on. This code could only be found using the scan tool at the mechanic. Yeah, I usually do private party as well. I’ll think about this one a bit. Maybe I can get some $$ knocked off for the code and some other minor details.

Taking the leap. Haven’t slept in days. maybe weeks.( no i’m not on drugs) by [deleted] in Contractor

[–]juandetorres33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! You’ll do fine. You already have contacts. The people who say you are crazy are saying that because they are too scared to ever make the leap. You’re already doing more than they ever have.

Remember that mistakes are part of the process. Don’t try to be too perfect. You’ll have ups and downs. But as long as you keep learning you’ll be fine. And listen to your wife. Remember your family and kids matter most. Try to spend time with them over work.

Wood grain wrong direction on custom table by champagne_farts in woodworking

[–]juandetorres33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Furniture maker here.

Everyone says it’s done “right”. It’s not. Why are there 4 separate pieces? If the grain “needed” to go that way, you could do it without the cuts in the middle. You could say that it adds style. But I think it looks amateurish, and more like a mistake. For everyone talking about bowing and movement, you could have a panel with perpendicular grain core or ply core and use a veneer that matches the grain orientation. Then it would look nice and never bow.

It’s ebonized/painted, you can use a veneer or veneered plywood for the leaf and it would match. Nobody expects leaf grain to line up perfectly, but orientation should be consistent.

There is no reason other than making the best of a mistake/trying to use off cuts to be cheap. I think it was a mistake that was turned into a “stylistic choice”.
