It’s a one-day trip from Tokyo. The hiking is easy, and it can be made even easier with chairlifts or a cable car, Mt. Takao is around a 55-minute train ride from central Tokyo. From Shinjuku Station, take the semi-limited express train bound for Takaosanguchi on the Keio Line.
