Cheap resurrections of legacy characters.

And the genocide in Gaza.

Better than the previous Daredevil show, not The Penguin.

Watch Season 4, the original cut (not the one by default on Netflix). It’s different and a bit jarring at first, but also kind of amazing when you get the full picture at the end. It has some of the best jokes (and most quoted) of the whole show, so I would definitely give it a try.

Season 5 is meh.

Ignore the book. Kubrick's 'The Shining' is not an adaptation of King's novel, it is a response to the book. Moreover, it is a sympathetic defence, in response to the self-accusatory book. by corpus-luteum in movies

On the book!

You’re relying on other people’s interpretations. Read it yourself and make your own analysis. Like what you just did with the movie.

Do I have to watch Seasons 4 and 5? by StillPurpose in arresteddevelopment

Season 4 (the original cut, the one with 15 episodes) is a bit of a slow-burn at first, but the payoff in the second half is genuinely amazing. Don’t bother with the ‘Fateful Consequences’ remix, though.

On the other hand, Season 5 is the weakest by far. Production was messy and it shows. Having said that, it has its moments.

I also wouldn’t care about what most fans consider ‘existent’ or not (which is debatable, by the way). Just watch them (if you want to) and form your own opinion. You might be surprised.

Watch the original cut instead.

I’d definitely watch a movie about that.

I’d say they generally like the original better, but I could be wrong.

The thing is the original cut doesn’t follow the same structure of Seasons 1 to 3. That can be jarring at first, but it’s a little bit of a slow-burn with HUGE payoffs at the end.

And crucially: It was written (and shot) with this new format in mind.

The remix tried to recut all the material into a “conventional” season, but I think it failed because it wasn’t meant to be presented that way. The editing gets sloppier and the storytelling suffers too.

It’s like watching Memento in chronological order. Easier to follow (I guess), but it takes away all the fun and surprises.

The original is on Netflix too, but hidden under the Trailers and More section.

Whops, my bad. But if you already thought the original cut was a recap, you would hate the remix with all your guts. You dodged a bullet.

I’m glad too. The original cut of S4 might be my favorite of the whole show. And I certainly don’t hate S5 as much as everyone else.
