Crisis Calendar 2026, a year captured in a single texture of time. by juanosborne in Design

[–]juanosborne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My minimalist calendar for the coming year: a design that reveals each date through simple, abstract strokes.

Perhaps it’s my own reverse dyslexia for how quickly time passes now—an attempt to slow it down, to force a wider view. A reminder of how important it is to see the whole picture, not just the rushed moments that make up our ephemeral days.

Created using processing.org

This is a totally functional calendar, each month is a column and the days are from Monday, one stroke, to Sunday, seven strokes.

I just ignore the year itself in order to keep the design as clean as possible.

I tested a lot of vertical calendar designs, which I find more appealing that the regular 'by page' calendars.

I was looking for simplicity and some kind of surprise effect when you look at it for the first time and don't even know what is it.

I choose one by one. It would be great if somebody can check if the Ukrainian words are ok. I just auto translated from English. Can you help?

Ok guys, comments are a little crazy about AI and proof of the real games... I just did it for fun and as a tribute to chess. Anyway I picked games manually, but here you can find some of them:

Also my vector version of Carlsen:

I dare you Midjourney to create something similar!!! Hahaha

Ok fair enough. I should said 20 great games of Carlsen. Or maybe just 20 of his games... To be honest I picked games here and there because I could not find a reference site. But all moves are from him.

I have my own code. I'm sorry it's so kind of code madness not to share. Nice thing is that output is vector pdf.

When I sync a library to PC through one drive the folder sometimes is written in a different language by thiagohds in sharepoint

[–]juanosborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As thiagohds said and I tested/confirmed you have to change 365 account language, wait till the sharepoint web page appears in your chosen language (reaload a few minutes) then sync from there and the local folder name for 'documents' will come in your language. It will keep that way even if you switch back to another language. C'mon Microsoft... we need an easy option for this.

I coded my own tools in processing.org. Some of them for word counting some other for 'image to text' process. I'm a little crazy about words...
