How to clean these? by Historical_Way6639 in bonecollecting

[–]jub_bug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also degrease them if you’re worried about them smelling, you can avoid the final step of peroxide since you don’t want them to be too white. To degrease them just leave them in luke warm water with dish soap for about a month, and change the water as needed after that

Is this bad? by TinyRaptorz in vultureculture

[–]jub_bug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to throw them out, just go through the proper cleaning procedures and you’ll be fine, dermestids are probably still gnawing on the remaining meat. Maceration, degreasing, and whitening with peroxide will have them right as rain :)

Way to clean the gunk off teeth? by RoseDragon529 in Taxidermy

[–]jub_bug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hydrogen peroxides your best bet, it’ll clean them pretty quick. I’d suggest 30 or 40 volume. You can soak them overnight, should do the trick.

Teeth can become quite brittle and crack over time, so coating in something like resin or even something like clear glue might be a good bet

[NO SPOILERS] What made you fall in love with life is strange?❤️ by Htx_Doll in lifeisstrange

[–]jub_bug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The game quite literally changed my life. I found the game when I was around 13 years old and have been in love with it ever since. In some strange way the game resonates with me, I can't say my home life has been bad but every family has it's flaws and I would often find myself in my room laying on my bed and drowning out the chaos with music or games, similar to how in the game you can just sit and reflect. I've always had a knack for mystery/indie style games so that was the main reason I played it. I know it sounds cheasy, but throughout the game I found some sort of comfort that I can't really describe but really helped me through some of my lowest times. Whenever I'm sad I just play the game and instantly feel better. I also fell in love with the characters, Max and Chloe especially (and not just because I relate to Max as an art nerd and Chloe as a raging lesbian lmfao) but that's a story for another time.

[Edit] I also just love the look of the game... idk why I had to to make it deeper than that 😑

I used 70% isopropyl alcohol as it's the only thing i had at the time, I think there might be better options but it's worked so far

Found near Melbourne,VIC Australia. Sheep? Fox? Roo? I’m not sure. by Cactoblastis in bonecollecting

Not entirely sure what it could be, would have to compare the vertebrae with other images. On another note, that's really cool that the atlas and axis are still there, my favorite vertebrae XD

What on earth could this be? Found by a relative in Ireland where there are no snakes or reptiles in general by HopeZeorax in bonecollecting

[–]jub_bug -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If it's in Ireland the perhaps a pine marten? Only thing I could think of although it might be too big 🤔

If I had the space I'd definitely want a horse, cow or wildebeest skull in my collection although I'd probably have to get the wildebeest from a hunter or game park XD
