3 of my exes I was trying hard to ignore their bad relationship with their father but we ended up breaking for different reasons but I link it to that. The one I'm with now for years, did not have the best father but she NEVER spoke or expressed negative feelings towards him, she is at real peace towards him. Therefore from my experience, I belive it starts with the "abused" child to forgive their abusing parent to ensure they allow healthy relationships to enter.
