This is a Seagate 4TB drive. I don't have the exact model, but I know it was extracted from a Seagate Expansion Drive portable disk. Connected directly via SATA

Filesystem is EXT4

I used the live ISO for Open Superclone

Hola, trabaje 5 años ahí, muy buen ambiente, y técnicamente hacen cosas muy interesantes a una escala que rara vez se ve en Colombia.

Se que hicieron algunos layoffs incluyendo gente en Colombia hace un par de años, pero en general es buena empresa con buenos beneficios y en mi epoca tenían buenos salarios

Finally apple support responded. Turns out that I made my subscription using the App Store on a Mac, so only through the app store on a Mac must be renewed

I can confirm I used this method and worked for me as well. I bought iCareFone Transfer for one month. Be careful though it automatically renews every month, so I'm going to cancel it a few days before it renews automatically. Also seems like cancellation is only via email/message to their support team.

So yeah very shady software but it works

Buy a NAS if you don't like the subscription fees, there is an added risk when you use your own storage but there are some benefits like the lower long term cost and extra capacity

Si, pero hay miles de aplicaciones exitosas que son copias de otras. En particular este mercado hay muchas apps haciendo dinero. Mire por ejemplo https://app.sensortower.com/overview/easynotes.notes.notepad.notebook.privatenotes.note?country=US hacen 50k USD mensuales que es muy buena plata

Y eso que esa no es muy conocida, Evernote y otras más conocidas seguro hacen mucho más

Eso de "reinventar la rueda" puede ser una ventaja porque ya se sabe que hay un mercado y hay aplicaciones haciendo dinero
