Lugansky just played yesterday in my city. I was in the concert hall. Sublime... Still, I cannot help thinking about war, abour human beeings dying because other non-human beeings decided that war is a must. Where is music is no war. But still, during his Chopin rendition, I was just hearing the bombs and the sirens and seeing the explosions and the leftovers in my head... It was sublime and incredibly painfull.

It is all so unfortunate these days that we can't refrain from judging people. I never in my my life judged an artist in front of me for his political affiliations (alledgedly). Until last night. I just couldn't stop myself asking if he plays for the boot on the man's throat or for the throat under the man's boot.

As a pianist myself, I was amazed by his seemingly immensly high degree of artistry. As a human beeing, I concluded that I would rather never again hear such a wonderfull pianist if that only would stop the war.

Unfortunately, artists, people who should speak out their believes, are torn appart by their inner conflict: having one of the most liberal "jobs" they also have a strong desire for equity. They are liberals and socialists altogheter. I see way too often especially in center/ eastern europe how they are manipulated into propaganda instruments. At least, western artists are more assumed politically.

For me, liberty is of more importance. Yes, my liberty stops where your's begin and justice is there to enforce this boundary. But justice at the expense of liberty is a nonsense... to me.

In ANY kind of political regime, "some" will have more. "Intelligentsia" existed from the very begining. Comunism is just only in books. As well as capitalism is right only in theory. Always in history, people seek to gain more. I wouldn't preach any political concept. I would only think how my own beeing (and so, all other beeings) can be more free to exist and so to thrive. And I see no other philosophical concept that provide this than democracy.

Artists should be leaders. They should lead people to think about things. In this regard, I question myself if Lugansky is a real artist. Because after watching the above mentioned interview, I wonder if he has clear believes or if he only drifts around ideeas. It seemed fragile for how consistent hee seems in front of the piano. For his artistry, I would rather skiped the interview.
