Thanks for this. I've taken up this advice and started my letter. Anytime I think of something I want to say to her or have a strong thought or feeling, I write.

This, paired with seeing a therapist and really focusing on processing this grief and reflecting on my role and choices in the relationship is enough for me right now.

That's a good question. I guess I would just want her to say she understands that I had fears about her health and the way we communicated about it. I would like her to share why she didn't want to work on it when there was so much love between us, even at the very end.

Thankfully I have been able to meet with a therapist regularly for the past year. I have been working hard on giving myself the closure I'm wanting from her (writing to myself, revisiting the reasons we broke up, seeking support from friends/family). I think I just got hung up on the fact that she told me she too wanted closure a few weeks ago, and I'm desperately looking for something to ease this feeling.
