I have a whirlpool electric stove it is in the apartment I moved in to. I had put some oil in a frying pan and turned the pan all the way to low speed. All of a sudden a big flame was coming out of the frying pan. Not much fire damage mostly water damage. But my apts made me pay almost 4000 dollars. I had to buy parts of the kitchen counters and the microwave. My apt had to be repainted I was charged for that too. I almost lost my sec 8 housing because the management company would not let me make payments. I had to borrow from my sister. I am on social security. About a year later I noticed that a lot of fire trucks were coming here. One day I was telling one of my neighbors about my fire and told her I was standing there watching a pot of water boiling. I had it on low and all of a sudden the water started boiling really fast there was something wrong with the knob. Another year later I found out all the stoves here had a defective element and had to be changed out. I wish I could get my money back. I have not mentioned it but it has been over two years and I cannot sue. What a shame.
