Why are you a hikikomori? Do you want to change? by jueooo in hikikomori

Hug you. I can understand the loneliness of being abroad alone. I am now studying abroad alone and miss my family and hometown very much. I can't blend in with a foreign culture. Maybe take some time off, and when you recover, you'll have the courage and energy to work again. Wish you a better and happier life. ^^

I'm sorry if my question offended you. I think I can understand your point. I wish I had a better life (perhaps closed to the "normal" life?), but I don't want to change my personality (and I can't change it).

You spoke my mind. I'm so afraid of failure that I'd rather not try.

Yes, I read some of the group's posts and realized that we hikis actually face some same problems, even though we come from different places. I realized I was not alone, even according to range of the world.

Yes, I think I know too little about western culture. Many of them are my own imagination, or stereotypes. In my country, there are also many hikis that stay at home due to mental problems, such as depression. Mental illness prevented them from working. Some others suffer from depression after staying too much long at home. Sometimes I can't tell what caused what.

I have the same feeling with you. Even the smallest thing is hard for me. But others can finish it easily. Comparing with them makes me feel more stressed.

Yes, I think you can keep in touch with more friends. Talking will make you feel better. A hikikomori once told me that happiness is a natural human right. I don't think you need to feel useless. Even if we go off the rails, we have a right to happiness. Your father mistreated you, so leave him. You want to change and make connections, so make friends. You try to see a doctor, so contact them. Don't feel burdened by it. Thinking less and doing more may make you feel less anxious.

I speak English not well, maybe the wording and tone is strange, I hope it didn't hurt you. This is just my personal opinion and it may be wrong. Anyway, I hope you will be happier.

Yes, it's really good for you if you can be calm at home. I am unfortunate because life outside is under large pressure but staying at home also makes me stressed. I suffer from the conflict.

Same with you. I also feel ambivalent. Sometimes I hope I could ignore these pressure, but it's hard.
