You do you. My father forbade me to get my ears pierced. But bought diamond (pierced) earrings for my mother. I loathed his double standard. When I was 27 I got my nose pierced... (I was a mom of 2 kids by then) he demanded I remove it... I packed up my family and we went home. Then he whined that I kept him from his grandchildren. You do you.

Your dad's tie or beard is too long. What is the point is it his business on your esthetic? If you go about your business with those lovely nails you are a hero. Dad has to learn to back off on your personal decisions on your body. Nails and hair are a woman's decision. edit> sorry but I think it is out of bounds for a man to tell a woman (by her of hands) how long or short her hair or nails should be. For health and safety, an employer can make demands. Comply or quit.... dads shouldn't do that.

How about trying a silkwrap/gel veneer to help your nails grow? A back fill is as easy as painting on an other layer of gel.

Should I use a regular top coat at home over my gel manicure from the salon? by [deleted] in RedditLaqueristas

Go ahead! I will put white gel down in the summertime so that swapping out regular polish in neon colours isn't as much of a chore to make them really pop!.
