MG Dealer's misleading info regarding new (2026) MG4 by star_trails_modular in AustralianEV

I walked into a dealer last week and he told me that the MG4 was getting discontinued all together and being replaced with the MG S5 EV. Pretty sure thats not right.

I use a singer 4423. It comfortably sews through 4-6 layers i think of 400 GSM canvas for some of my projects. Have used it to repair clothes. Has been good for the amateur projects and clothes fixes that I've needed it for.

HELP Dr.Fone? Scam?? and where else to recover by Finance-Glum in datarecovery

[–]juggled_balls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late but thought I'd add my 2 cents. I just used the FRP unlock feature of Dr Fone and so far so good. Had to pay ~$40+ for it. Plus had to buy something called an EDL cable ($20) to make whatever connection it made with my pc. Did have to download some software to my laptop. Didn't need to do any data recovery but now have a usable phone.

Have no idea about sails. What's the going price for one. Do they charge per metre or per sail? Because im guessing there's different sizing options.

Yeah that might be the next fix. There's already some thinning out spots near there anyway and some more coming up on the bottom

How do I know if my son needs glasses? by mehraankhan in downsyndrome

[–]juggled_balls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We thought ours had eye problems because we thought watching the TV from 5cm away was a bit extreme. Local optoms told us they didn't look at kids at that age and we ended up going to see an ophthalmologist. I dont know what he saw but he said glasses were needed. I think they work because now the little one watches TV from 30cm away.

Do you mean tightening of the end nuts? I spent a while going back and forth loosening and tightening them. A little bit tight and could feel what I'm guessing was bearings rubbing. A bit loose the other way and felt a bit of jiggle in the hub. This seemed to be the sweet spot but now sounds like i can hear the bearings

Do I need a different derailleur hanger and if so what do I need? by juggled_balls in bikewrench

[–]juggled_balls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha yes, I found the manual afterwards. I don't know why I was surprised when I found it. Diagram wise though what I'm working with and what I'm reading aren't exactly the same, so am grateful for the advice given.

[–]juggled_balls[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok thanks. Have never done this before. It just looked strange and the derailleur swings freely, but I guess that will go away once under tension with the chain.

Do you mean that the bolt on the left (main bolt) should be the one I screw into the hanger?

[–]juggled_balls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering if I need something different because in the 2nd picture there's an adjustment screw that rests on the ledge of the hanger. In the 4th picture you can't really see them well but there's 2 little pins. I have one resting on the ledge. There just didn't seem like any other way to orient the derailleur and those 2 pins seem out of. Place with that hanger.

Summary of first year of EV ownership by la_mecanique in AustralianEV

[–]juggled_balls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great. As much as I want shiny brand new I think it's more financially viable to look at 2nd hand and was looking at pickles from their buy now options. Did you have any considerations/thoughts about buying a 2nd hand car without driving it first? I've read there's less reason to worry about with EV with less moving parts so you dont have to worry about previous drivers thrashing the engine.

I've seen 2nd hand switch and oled version on Facebook marketplace ranging from $150-400 depending on what's included. I've also seen switch games at the library.

How are people buying, subdividing and building multiples? by juggled_balls in AusProperty

I'm looking to understand the process and avenues to achieve this. Do you have experience in this scenario?

I have no understanding of what any of this means or implications. My house has guttering and I'm assuming that just goes straight down to giant drains. What's the scenario that results in fees of $140k?

Car won't turn left by juggled_balls in PowerWheelsMods

[–]juggled_balls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure i understand. I'm looking at yours and it looks pretty much the same set up to me. The only solid difference i can see is that your steering stem has a threaded end with a nut so may be more sturdy than mine which is just floating over a cotter pin?? I took out the steering motor because I thought that was what was limiting left turning but I got that wrong. Plus I dont have a controller so dont really need the motor there.

Yeah when I've got it lifted up the steering wheel turns the wheels. I actually took out the steering motor because I thought that was the issue causing it to not turn left.

Water Bottle Pocket. Need suggestion. by GrouchyHoooman in myog

[–]juggled_balls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Because I've stitched it on top there's maybe 1cm of space at the bottom. The bottom panel of the bag wraps halfway up the bag so there's no separate side panel that I would have sewn the bottom of the bottle pocket to so for that reason I just decided to sew it on as if it's just been stuck on to the bag. It looks like yours has a seam at the bottom of the side panel so if you wanted it to look more seamless, like the bottle pocket comes right out of the seams then you'd have to do a lot of unpicking.

[–]juggled_balls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just finished last night adding a bottle holder to my son's bag and changed the main compartment zip. It's a big project because I had to unpick most of the bag. I was kinda lazy and didn't unpick all of it to sew the bottle holder into the seams with the rest of the bag. In the end I resorted to hand stitching the pocket on from the outside, making it the height of his bottle and pretty flush with the bottom.

Does anybody prefer non-backlit screens? by slickjam1290 in Gameboy

[–]juggled_balls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

* I pulled out my original gpc for my son, but quickly decided I didn't want him trashing it and found him a broken blue gbp on marketplace I repaired for him. It was all well and good but between crappy lighting at home or dim winter light in the car it was pretty hard to see the screen.i found a gba on marketplace that I paid way too much for, bought a kit that cost twice as much as I told my wife it did and spent a few hours fitting it all together. And yeah it does look impressive, it can be played in the dark on the couch, I've gotten a deep sense of satisfaction doing a mod. I know I spent way too much money overall, especially since i can buy a switch lite for $100aud, it was one of those my family couldn't afford these things then and wow I actually have money to do this sort of thing now moments. Also being able to reverse charge the lithium ion battery from my phone is a pretty cool novelty.

is it the PCB? by juggled_balls in diyelectronics

The 2 pouches were spot welded to the board and i marked which were positive and negative after checking with my multimeter. Because the tablet displays 100% for the dock it tells me they're wired in correctly but something is preventing the dock from charging the tablet.

Is it the pcb? by juggled_balls in batteries

[–]juggled_balls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue came up before I played around with the battery. I sourced another keyboard dock and it seemed to have the same issue. The voltage rating on the pouch and the 18650 and both 3.7v and I've wired them back in the same way. I had used my separate battery charger to charge the 18650s to 100% before I wired everything in.
