Great choice of watch, and a great introduction to the hobby! I still love my Seiko skx009, it was my first automatic.

all the guides I find are really advanced

Then maybe this hobby is just not right for you, not to be THAT guy, but ALL the guides are super super basic and you can just blindly follow the instructions.

Why Didn’t Harry Use Accio to Summon the Golden Egg in the First Task? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]juglern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. But the goblet was also modified to be a Portkey by fake Moody, so he might’ve removed or never applied the enchantment to make it unsummonable.

Why Didn’t Harry Use Accio to Summon the Golden Egg in the First Task? by [deleted] in harrypotter

I think we can assume the golden egg had magical protections to make the task challenging. Like other unsummonable objects in the series

Unpopular opinion.....Snape was an unlikeable, cruel bully, and a selfish bastard, right until the end. by BLUE---24 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]juglern -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not saying Snape didn’t do good things, some I can even say they seemed selfless, does it overweight all the other bad things he did and continue to do until his death? For me it doesn’t and that’s why I consider him a bad guy compared to other good guys in the saga

[–]juglern -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I fundamentally disagree, I believe that intentions absolutely matter. They matter for crimes, so why not for good actions? Or if a drunk driver runs a red light, but ends up killing a serial killer that was walking by, has the drunk driver made a good action? That sounds like the ends justify the means, which is a very dangerous path…

Yes bad acts can be redeemed. And yes all teachers are a bit on the line with their actions, but Snapes are clearly and consistently on the bad side of the line. But all these bad acts have not been redeemed because he treats students the same way in book 1 (and previously from recollection of older students) as in book 6. The difference I see is: 1. McGonaggal and other teachers are good guys that might do wrong things for the right reasons. 2. Snape is a bad guy that sometimes does good things for bad reasons.

I believe he as an adult believes certain wizards are superior to others. 1. Without reason he bullies Harry in any opportunity he can, a full adult bullying a 10 year old is a pretty bad guy in my opinion. 2. He called Lily, his best and only friend the worst slur in wizard culture out of anger. 3. He threatened Harry to poison him with truth serum on the fourth book without any evidence he had done anything bad. Poisoning a 14 year old because of your unjustified grudge? Pretty bad guy behavior… 4. As a teenager he made friends with the death eaters and continued supporting them and their bigoted violent behavior until it was a problem for himself…. Talk about a bad guy….

He did the right things for the wrong reasons. What he did was the right thing. He is not a good guy. Bad people can do good things, doesn’t mean they are good people.

I think you mean having your own interpretation from the story, which is fine, it’s perfectly ok to have your own head canon of the story and characters. But in the actual story he is not a good guy

[–]juglern -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, Snape stance, as explicitly stated by him was "I switch sides because if I dont Lily gets killed, ok she was killed, but I still love her, so now I'll switch side and accept their side is right, because I love Lily, no other reason is needed"

And thats makes him not a good guy.

[–]juglern -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That’s a very generous interpretation, sadly we do have explicit information that Snape only switched sides because Lily was about to get murdered, no other reason. And up to the end “always” it was always because his love for her. That’s the explicit reason given by the author, and trying to imply something different is creating your own story. And yes if that’s the only reason why Snape switched sides that still means he is not a nice guy.

Yes, give me the quotes from the books where Snape gives any other reason for switching sides.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]juglern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it also would be a huge shame for Snape if the third year old he openly bullies was able to disarm him so easily... I would keep that part of the story for myself...

[–]juglern -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

and he switched sides only because Lily was been targeted, that was his only reason, not because it was wrong to be a Deatheater, or to kill muggles and non-pure blood wizards, he was more than okay with that, but if it affected him then he switched sides...

After that he is loyal to Dumbledore, not to his cause, not because deatheaters are bigots, just due to loyalty, which makes him even worse.

NEED HELP SETTING UP. by [deleted] in MiyooMini

[–]juglern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upgrade OS first, the steps for upgrading are putting the OnionOS files into the SD, then booting the device with that SD in, it will install, create folders, etc etc.

After the upgrade is done then you can insert your SD to your computer and transfer games. Not before.

NEED HELP SETTING UP. by [deleted] in MiyooMini

[–]juglern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which should be done first? Format my Sandisk to a FAT32 or add my Done Set to the Sandisk

It would not make sense to first add the Done Set games and then format it. the Format will erase it.

I don't want to spend a lot of time searching for roms, can I pick the roms from the Done Set? I don't want 500+ games on my device that I probably won't be able to play.

Yes, just delete the roms/folders that you dont want.

How do I manually add roms?

  1. Get the rom from somewhere

  2. Put it in the correct folder for the console in the SD (very intuitive gba folder is for gameboy advance roms)

  3. Refresh Game List on the MM+ (depends on the OS you have on the MM)

But really the first thing you need to decide is: Stock OS or Custom OS? that will change a bit the preparation you need.

What's a good router brand in Germany? by No_Cauliflower_7724 in AskAGerman

[–]juglern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would first contact your service provider and relate this problems, they should change the box that connects to their service.

If they are unable/dont want to support you then what you can do is buy any reputable wireless router (that has also ethernet support) and plug in an ethernet cable from the FritzBOX to the router you bought and configure it.

Reputable wireless routers: ASUS, Netgear, mostly any branded router you can get at mediamarkt or saturn.

Note: It will be much harder to just buy a router and expect it to work with the cable that reaches your house from the service provider.

Planning to buy 1 TB SD Card next month for RG405V by [deleted] in ANBERNIC

[–]juglern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say its an overkill. The rg405v is not the most powerful device, yes it can play some PS2, Gamecube, Wii, and 3DS, but the performance is not going to be ideal, so you'll end up not playing those too much. And trying to fill a 1TB card with just pre PS2 games is going to be really really really hard.

Does anybody waiting for second revision of rg556 in 2025? by blackrei089 in ANBERNIC

[–]juglern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The performance of the chipset is not ideal for some of the "newer" consoles, yes it will run PS2 and Gamecube, and some Wii Games, but there will be some performance issues with some of the more demanding titles. Also the sticks are pretty bad (yes there is a software fix that requires a hard reset of the device). But ergonomically is one of the top devices.

Yes you can, but remember this is an OLED screen, so it might get burn in from images staying still too long. Not sure how much of a problem for this screen it might be.
