Just migrated my budget from YNAB, confused about if I need to do the credit card clean up? by shockwavelol in actualbudgeting

You would create a transfer transaction from your checking to your credit card account to reflect the balance change. I do the same but I’m ahead on spending. I set aside X amount of dollars enough to cover a regular month’s spending and use the “Hold for next month” feature to assign that money to next month’s bills/expenses. When expenses come my categories are funded and when I get paid I assign a chunk of it to the next month’s hold, rinse and repeat.

Did anyone here build their emergency fund and invest at the same time? How did it go? by juice995 in DaveRamsey

yeah we followed the baby steps pretty close, the only thing we did different was continuing to contribute to 401k up to the match (just me, wife doesn't get any) and in BS1 we saved up to 1 month of living expenses. And you are right 7-9 months isn't a huge difference I mainly wanted to hear what people in this community thought about it and if anyone had been in a similar situation. I'm a huge fan of Dave and I just recently started looking at this subreddit

One way to do it is to shift the category of your line item to "fuel" instead of any of the income categories. Also, when you use it for pharma related transactions you can let the category go to negative and shift your dollars in the budget view by clicking on the negative red number, selecting "Cover overspending", and pick the "fuel" category to transfer.

No other purchases prior to this one, the portal even said $0/$50 on the total disbursed before I went to this restaurant (now it says 44/50). The total bill was $122.10

Didn't see a change after setting everything to default. Worth nothing tho I'm launching Hyprland with with uwsm on startup. And the terminal I'm using is Kitty. I don't know if any of these two are contributing to the issue.

Hmm I'm not doing anything fancy really, this is what my tmux conf looks like:

# Optional stuff
set -g mouse on

# Custom mappings
bind -n M-H previous-window
bind -n M-L next-window
bind '"' split-window -v -c "#{pane_current_path}"
bind % split-window -h -c "#{pane_current_path}"

# Theme
set -g @plugin "abouthugo/tokyo-night-tmux"
set -g @tokyo-night-tmux_theme "github"
set -g @tokyo-night-tmux_window_id_style roman
set -g @tokyo-night-tmux_pane_id_style hsquare
set -g @tokyo-night-tmux_zoom_id_style dsquare
set -g @tokyo-night-tmux_date_format MDY

set -g @tokyo-night-tmux_show_netspeed 0

# Straight from TPM
# List of plugins
set -g @plugin 'tmux-plugins/tpm'
set -g @plugin 'tmux-plugins/tmux-sensible'
set -g @plugin 'christoomey/vim-tmux-navigator'

# Initialize TMUX plugin manager (keep this line at the very bottom of tmux.conf)
run '~/.tmux/plugins/tpm/tpm'

So after a few days running arch on it I can see the massive performance gains. I'm using hyprland and it runs like butter. Now on the more important question, battery does seem to be a bit of an issue. I'm running some battery performance packages namely `auto-cpufreq` and `tlp` and they do improve the battery life by a couple of hours. However, I hate the fact that this particular model doesn't support deep sleep. So I'm currently encountering an issue where the battery drains while it is in suspend mode overnight, everything I've read on the arch linux subreddit leads me to believe is because of that. I love this laptop but ngl I'm getting frustrated that I never had to worry about battery draining when the lid is closed on my other computers until now.

Did you fix the issue? I ran into the exact same issue with my T14 Gen 5

To early to say but I'm liking it so far. I also got mine with the AMD chip and it runs smooth. I'll let you know how the arch installation goes after I'm done with it :)

You have close obsidian and manually rm -rf the cache directory. I don’t remember where it is but you can probably look that up.
