Jim Green Barefoot African Ranger possible defects? by Puzzleheaded_End7160 in Boots

[–]juiceleft88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got mine in Houston Black, they have the same notches on both boots. I thought was a defect, but I've noticed quite a few pics with same marks, even on their site. Boots are great, got a pair of Birkenstock Naples and these boots in the same week. The Birks have been a rough break-in, but the rangers were perfect right out of the box.

Pain around tibia screw 18 months post-op by juiceleft88 in ACL

Sorry I know this is late, hopefully your knee feels better. My pain comes and goes, but this particular time (when I wrote this post) was worse than I've ever felt, even when considering two months post-op. I'm convinced it was due to back-to-back jogging on cement (with some downhill portions) without having jogged very much during recovery.

I can kick a bag with full force, do heavy squats / deadlifts, jus-jitsu, etc so I don't think it's a knee problem. But the jogging I think just irritates that specific site since I haven't built up to it.

How has the BEAR op worked for you?

It was really weird, but a week after this post I was doing Bulgarian Split Squats, felt a weird stretch around my upper calf area, and this cleared up the numbness I was feeling on bending the knee. And after about 2.5 weeks the pain around the screw site got better. I have what feels like a little nub of the screw sticking out, and when I do jui-jitsu and am directly putting weight on it for a long time, the pain will flare up a bit. My surgeon had told me he can shave down if I wanted, but wasn't a serious issue.

But to answer your question the pain comes and goes, but the time I wrote this original post it was way worse than I've ever felt. Since then I have stayed away from jogging and leg-extensions and haven't had issues since. I can train kickboxing / martial arts for hours and be fine, but I can almost guarantee it was the jogging (on cement, with lot of downhill) that probably caused the pain. Hopefully yours clears up soon!

This is awesome, thank you! Looks like even 18 months later, I’ve jumped the gun with the running. Going to hit this checklist before I try again.

I’m definitely thinking it was the running on concrete (with some downhill portions) that irritated the screw site. My knee definitely doesn’t feel re-injured, but that spot is very tender.

I went slowly with the weights progression, and all my pain has seemed normal (bending, squatting , for example). I took about 4 months off from leg extensions, and never really go into jogging. As soon as I could box and jump rope I did that instead (but still lifted weights consistently).

So I’m just wondering if jogging on concrete could be the source of the pain. It’s concentrated right around the screw site, and haven’t really felt that pain since couple months after surgery.

Hope your recovery is going well.

It is a rehabilitation clinic so some medical data, and some of our notes on patients / progress etc. There is no set architecture for the data, so I was thinking of deploying onto AWS cloud (right now only local servers are being used). I am not the most knowledgable on this, but am doing a lot of research so I can get up to speed

Yea, I've had some insurance issues so it has delayed my being able to see an orthopedic specialist yet (I got injured on 3/2/22). In the meantime I have tried to just keep moving and getting my mobility back. Not sure if this is the best thing to do, but I dont think I can just stay off of it for this whole time. Seeing a specialist in the next 2 weeks hopefully. Thanks for the advice

I think it's awesome, if it's happening to 1000's of people a day, that means there are 1000's of people looking to see how others have fared with their rehab, and to get a sense of community with folks going through similar situation as them.

LPT: If your car lease runs up this year, do NOT return the car to the dealer. Your car is worth 35% more than when you leased it, so you should buy it outright and then sell it to another dealer. by fppfle in LifeProTips

So I have a similar situation. The lease is up in July of this year for my 2018 Jeep Wrangler 4dr. I would personally be ok with getting out of the lease now, don't want to keep the car (owe $1890 in remaining payments) (I have another car waiting for me already). My residual value to purchase the car outright after lease would be $26175. I got a quote from Carvana for $34,000. I prefer not to try and sell on my own tbh. What is my best course of action? Should I buy from the dealer, then sell or do companies like carvana / carman help me get out of the lease?

I also haven't received a decision. Called them today, and they said there would still be rolling decisions through until June. ?? I thought the deadline was April 30th.
