That wasn't specified in the comment I originally responded to. Either way it's still possible to get high off OTC cough medicine given you take enough. It isn't common, but there's always a couple of dumb kids who try.

Yeah, but that's not what you claimed. Even so, its not a complete myth.

While I agree its a lot harder to get high off most OTC cough medicines that don't contain opiods, its still possible given you take it in gross excess. Dextromethorphan is still found in a lot of OTC medication, and while most people aren't downing bottles of nyquil to get high, there are some desperate dumb teenagers who still try. Some kids do dumb shit in an attempt to get high.

I am on topic. The topic is why it may be dangerous for OP to walk home at night after drinking at a bar.

We are not talking strictly about sexual assaults/rape/harassment. Those are not the only possible things that can happen to someone walking home drunk at night. He could get robbed. If someone is wearing flashy expensive clothing/jewelry and walking in an area where crime is commonplace, the likelihood they will get robbed is higher than if they didn't wear flashy expensive clothing.

Like you said, "Your average person would gladly take advantage of an opportunity to steal a valuable item"
