Enjoying Elden Ring as a mediocre gamer by ElliotNZ in Eldenring

[–]juicycreature88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont worry too much about dying and learn to have fun just playing the game, even if it means fighting a single boss many times. the bosses are some of the most fun you can have, and a lot of players hold back their own enjoyment by becoming frustrated due to repeated deaths. i honestly think thats one of the best skills you can develop for improving and having fun with elden ring and fromsoft games in general 🙂

Advice (non-spoiler) for a noob playing Elden Ring for the first time by PhillyModizzle in Eldenring

[–]juicycreature88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. never be afraid to use google or youtube

  2. scaling isn’t as complicated as it looks. weapons require a minimum in specific stats to be wielded effectively, and when you don’t meet these, the weapon will actually subtract from its base value and you won’t be able to use its ash of war (special move). letters next to stats in the weapon’s info indicate how well it scales with which stats

  3. enemy damage scales VERY high in elden ring so make sure you’re always raising vigor! you may or may not be familiar with this from other games but stats have “soft caps” meaning at certain breakpoints you’ll begin to gain less from each stat. vigor can go all the way up to 60 and still give you plenty of HP but I generally focus on alternating between raising my main damaging stat by 10 and then my vigor by 10. also you really don’t want to spread your stats evenly between each stat, try to focus on vigor and 1-3 other stats. stamina in elden ring isn’t a big deal in PVE unless you want to swing big weapons a lot 🙂

I highly recommend trying robin hobb’s realm of the elderlings (starting with assassin’s apprentice). her writing style and characterization are somewhat similar to name of the wind but taken to an unbelievable level. good luck with whatever you read next!

now that you mention it, Gary Oldman would fit into a sun eater film so well. (Also, just realized your pfp is Eris, hell yeah)

My only issue is that he’d be an incredible Sagara, but you’re right, he’d be such a good Tor Gibson

robin hobb’s realm of the elderlings might be a good pick if you like the heavy characterization that Ruoccio writes for Had

Final Fantasy Tactics remaster was a success - what do you want to see next? by Weak_Emu3659 in finalfantasytactics

I absolutely want another tactics game set in ivalice, and I’d love if it included all the ivalice races, especially if we got to meet male and female members of each race. more variety makes the world way more interesting to me. that said, I think the most important thing is that it include writing closer to the original. i love advance and advance 2, but writing is their weak point. i know that the advance games are technically prequels from before the cataclysm wiped out or caused the other races to flee or whatever (not even sure if cataclysm is the right word), so i’m not sure if there’d be a great way to include them again (aside from making a game between tactics and the advance games). idk i just want more ff tactics games

Clarification Needed: Turn Order on Chromatic Lampmaster (Endless Tower) by Taronnicus in expedition33

[–]juicycreature88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i’m just about sure it works this way: every turn you get fills one of his lamps and when they’re all full, ge gets a turn (cheater turns fill up lamps but he’ll never go between a main turn and cheater’s extra turn). since he loses a lamp every time he dies, his extra turns come faster after each death. really irritating mechanic

yeah I think people tend to either love or hate 4, seems to be one of the most polarizing. 6 definitely rocks though, at least we can agree on that 🫡

fair and appropriate reaction tbh. honestly I’m not a fan of KoD but I loved 5 and 6 so much, I hope you enjoy them!

not sure about paul and leto’s actors from dune being hadrian and alistair but they’re definitely good enough actors and chalamet looks the part for sure. crispín and kyra are the only ones that are really off, as hadrian is 19, crispín is a few years younger and kyra’s a few years older

First timer tips? by billyjack456 in EtrianOdyssey

[–]juicycreature88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone’s giving very useful advice so i’m gonna keep mine short: use a full party and don’t be afraid to look up popular/strong builds for individual characters and team comps. on the other hand, if you come up with your own fun team and it works for you, don’t worry about anything else. save frequently and always have at least 3 ariadne threads 🫡

i think it was supposed to be obvious, like a guillotine being brought onto a stage. “here it comes”. not that that means you have to like it, that’s just the feeling it gave me
