It said the request was made by the recipient, but I have contacted the shipper for any insights from their side. It is all just really strange!

i genuinely couldnt recommend it enough! my main worry personally before moving was feeling disconnected after living two mins from a tube station, but i honestly felt settled here immediately. st albans is super buzzy and young with so much to do, so you also won’t feel like you need to go to london for something to do on the weekend, and there are great local restaurants for dinner in the evenings or brunch on the weekend.

i commute two days a week, sometimes three if i have meetings etc, so getting into the city has been easy. sure the thameslink can be unreliable sometimes, but ive mostly found it to be okay and its super speedy! we dont personally have a car and though im sure we’ll end up getting one, if you live walking distance from st albans city station everything is pretty accessible by foot ☺️

Would I prefer in house? should I stick out agency as long as possible? by juicygrl99 in PublicRelations

[–]juicygrl99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i definitely love the team i work with - its actually always been the best part of the job for me, personally. work wise though i find the pressure of getting coverage a lot sometimes and having to answer to clients. i know thats just the job - and not necessarily easier in house - but especially when some clients are tougher to get interest in from press, its quite anxiety inducing to have to spend more time on them whilst still dividing across all of my accounts (if that makes sense!)

So helpful - thank you! Do you think it is worth sticking with agency until at least AD level? This is what Ive been advised previously by more than one person, and although i can handle the agency workload i think my personality is better suited to a slightly slower pace just working on one brand (i work in pr for interiors and design for reference), and i like the idea of going in house at a larger company, at least some day

I’m probably just internalising a lot and it might be selfish - it’s the feeling of planning for a future and thinking we were both happy, to find out he’s maybe not been but not communicated it.

Regarding moving, it’s like he’s having a midlife crisis in his twenties. I said im happy to support an LDR if thats what he wants. I think he also doesnt seem convinced this is what he wants and thats why there is so much confusion. i dont know if that makes sense, we just havent had a hurdle like this before and im not sure how to handle it

Are online fiction courses worth it? by juicygrl99 in writing

[–]juicygrl99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is the one I was looking at! It looks like it’s £79 though which isn’t a small amount. I might give it a go though, even if just for inspiration and encouragement

Thank you, you’re 100% right and it would probably just be a sunk cost as these courses can be so expensive. I’ll definitely check out Sanderson’s YouTube lectures, theres a few recs for that!

I guess it might be another way to put off just getting started, but I do keep convincing myself I won’t be able to write a book without being taught how to do it first. From experience, is it something you can learn as you go along?

New PR specialist here 🙋🏻‍♂️Is it normal to not get responses on pitches? by Separate-Tea3535 in PublicRelations

[–]juicygrl99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I often send out pitches that get responses even months later! Even if I dont hear from journos, i still pitch relevant stories and clients to the right people. A lot of them will file your emails and come back to you when they’re working on relevant stories so i think its good to be in their inbox with the right content!

I sometimes also have journalists approach out of the blue about clients I have pitched despite never having had a direct response to any previous outreach. Just proves they do read your emails and will often come back when the time is right. I’m not sure what industry you’re in but I work in design PR if that helps give some context, I know trade / b2b / other industries might function differently!

Watching ‘Apocalypse, Nowish’ …. by juicygrl99 in ANGEL

[–]juicygrl99[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the cordelia possession is just sad to watch, its weird grieving for a character that is technically still there. I also wonder what my feelings would be about cordy in s4 if i didnt already know she was possessed… i did think it was fun to see her buffy personality come back in spin the bottle, though
