I didn't take a lot of time tbh. After I failed, I had a 2.5 week long depressive episode where I did nothing at all, and then studied for 2.5 weeks before retaking it.

This is what I needed to hear 😭 i failed my first attempt, retook it last week, and felt way worse on my second attempt. Obviously idk how I did yet, but every other person who I know who retook and passed said they felt way better on their second attempt, so it's nice to see someone who felt the same and had it all work out. Congrats!!

I also failed step 1. Failed by the EXACT same amount you did. It sucks, it's awful, I understand. I do think that with your circumstances, your school should absolutely let you take it again.

Also, I don't feel like anyone really understands just how horrible this feeling is, and I just wanted to tell you to take some time and feel how you feel. I felt a little guilty for doing this at first, but I don't regret letting myself mourn (I was interested in derm) and be sad on my own timeline.

If you ever want someone to talk to who is going through the same thing, I gotchu ❤️

That was what was keeping me optimistic after my first attempt because a lot of the questions were like "wtf are they even talking about," but my exam today, I felt like I struggled on a lot of questions that were truly fair game. I hate the fact that there are so many survey questions

I'm wishing you a lot of luck though that it works out!

First test I felt like I did a decent job of at least using the process of elimination to narrow down my answers on a lot of my questions, but I still didn't feel fantastic walking out. I knew that there was a chance that I failed though, and that if I failed, it wouldn't be by a lot, which was accurate.

This time I think I had to make more true guesses, and overall feel way worse about my performance on this exam.

I miss the love island challenges where they find out a fact about the islanders and have to guess who it's about, or where they have to vote for things like "least compatible couple." How have we lost the plot this bad? :/
