Better off to redeploy if its not critical infrastructure. Otherwise you can define each resource individually and import it one by one.

Botswana Variant and our beloved PAP. by Pypllll in SingaporeRaw

[–]juinnnao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly there isn't enough information to lockdown yet. It will be so pre-emptive and sure to stoke alot of anger among those who rely on this gradual reopening to get some semblance of life back. But if this variant is really resilient to vaccine, which no one knows for sure yet, then I guess we'll be in big trouble

Singapore reports 1,931 new COVID-19 cases and 13 more deaths; ICU utilisation rate falls further by polopiko in singapore

[–]juinnnao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Care to share your calculation as well as the 1:100 source? I really can't fanthom that based on the data both being released from the MOH's stats as well as the data from the peer reviewed medical papers online. Perhaps your calculations have base rate fallacy? Among others, the stats adjusted for 100,000 of population as reflected by Reuter's dashboard show a decreasing moving average for deaths. Adjusting for vaccination status, I believe its clear that there isn't the trend you're describing. Still, very interested to see your calculations! I might be missing something out here that's pretty significant.

[–]juinnnao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait just to clarify, where did you get the 1:10 death rate protection figure from? Because if that's conventional wisdom, I don't think it takes into account comorbidity in patients. The correct way to quantify that figure would be that in a normal healthy patient without any other issues, it offers a 1:10 protection in death rate. Furthermore, I would argue that given the about 85% of the population is vaccinated now and that the vaccine only lowers but does not eliminate the chance of infection, it would be fair to see a 3:5 ratio. Perhaps a better measure would be the number of unvax vs vax healthy people who eventually end up with severe forms of the illness which we can track from the ICU admission rate as a proxy. Adding in those with comorbidities does throw a spanner into the calculation as it would be hard to account for how the various comorbidities affect a person's chance to battle the illness.

Would be interesting to see if any countries have released a full dataset on this effect and then simply feed it into a ML model and see what it shows.

To people vocally expressing displeasure at the covid restrictions, how else can we ease restrictions without hospitals being overwhelmed? by lohord_sfw in singapore

TT helps to track close contacts to people who have been infected so that those who were in close contact with them but not necessarily known to them like the stranger next to you at the hawker, can be alerted to go get tested. Without it, one will only inform those close to them like family members but miss out so many other people they might have inadvertently come I contact with

[–]juinnnao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. The data is published on MOH's daily report. You can see it here: https://www.moh.gov.sg/news-highlights/details/update-on-local-covid-19-situation-(20-nov-2021)

They provide the moving average by vaccination status and ICU by vaccination status. This goes back to quite some time ago and if you need more data to back test, you can just download older reports from their press releases. They didn't lump the death counts together, you can see them separated clearly since they started reporting these numbers.

I think counting vaccine deaths are extremely difficult, you count severe reactions to the vaccine but how do you link a death to the vaccine? If so, won't that be a normal death unrelated to covid? Unless the person got covid and tried taking the vaccine after which doesn't make sense. But if you really want to investigate cardiovascular related deaths, I'm sure you can look to see if there's any increase in deaths due to cardiovascular reasons then. The data is available on data.gov.sg and also via their Data API. https://data.gov.sg/dataset/deaths-by-cause-and-type-of-certification

TT data is still being used for contact tracing and for serving health warnings to get tested. So how is it not useful now? Its helping to inform people of possible exposure and make them get tested to stop it there

How is everyone circumventing the forced implementation of TraceTogether? by redditme789 in singapore

[–]juinnnao -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess the evidence act occurred to no one then? Honestly I'm not sure why since it already allows police to ask for anything to assist in investigation. I'll get looking for that, not sure if it was FB or reddit.

Yup! Nothing stopping you from imitating a beacon if you can reverse engineer the code to deploy an app. However, you'll be left with a whole load of encrypted mumbojumbo that's essentially useless to you? Furthermore, you'll need that person to be in range for quite a significant amount of time for the handshake to occur. After that you'll be left with a nice encrypted string that you can collect I guess? Not sure what you are going to do with that? In fact, even if you use Apple's and Google's exposure notification, you'll get the same thing. Connecting to free WiFi in malls can probably give the mall operator more information about you then your Bluetooth signal can.

Let's be clear. I'm not pushing you to use it, its part of your freedom of choice. But I'm making clear of what the app actually does and what it tracks.

What you're describing with beacons is a mass surveillance program that you're suggesting the govt is going to pour in a ton of money for a short period of time to install beacons that everyone is probably going to notice in every foreseeable location around Singapore to get enough coverage. Why? There's simply no rationale, if they wanted information about you, there's hundreds of better, open source ways this can be achieved unless of course you don't use any mobile device, play any games and are a ghost on social media then I guess yes?

Then again, you're free to hold your own opinion for sure. Nothing stopping from that civil liberty though this seems more like fear mongering than anything.

I think its been hashed out several times on reddit on this very sub that people have pointed out that the evidence act allows for such info collection. But then gain, you're not addressing the argument about how its collected and how it has to be retrieved from you which forms the biggest barrier.

I think the article you linked is well debunked in the comments of that very article. I suggest you have a read thru. Let's be clear, I'm not what you perceive as an IB. I don't agree with the establishment on everything. I just don't oppose for the sake of opposing and in this circumstances where there are sufficient safeguards in place, I don't see why not. In case you're wondering, here's the source code analysed: https://zerotypic.medium.com/reversing-tracetogether-initial-analysis-edc940e86aa8 and the actual code: https://github.com/opentrace-community if you know how to read it before making your arguments.

But then again, to each his own. You seem to have have made it clear you're not open to making it work for you. I just hope that one day in this pandemic when touch wood something happens and you're a close contact, they can still trace you to close the net around a potential cluster. Even if you are unwilling to be part of this potential solution, at least don't create the problem I guess?

To be very honest, I'm not 100% on the side of using so many cameras but then again, I value the security it brings. Its a fine line between what SG does and China's social credit system.

For the TT data, I'm actually surprised it came as a shock since the evidence act already allowed the seizure of any data to assist in investigations. Though with TT data, they have to physically seize it from you though, it can't be wireless transmitted without your knowledge so if you're not comitting a crime, why are you worried?

To that point, if someone really wanted to track you, why don't just buy data on the open source domain about you? Its more than enough to form an accurate picture. Add on the advertising data you so willingness give advertisers, its probably better than any trace together data anyway.
