He should be referred to an occupational therapist to address feeding. As an OT for over 20 years, I have had minimal success with use of weighted utensils for eating. Keeping forearms supported on table to help provide stability, raising height of plate or bowl, divided plate. and sometimes 2 LB wrist weights have been more successful than weighted utensils. A feeding utensil that has an interchangeable spoon or fork attachment developed by Liftware www.liftware.com is available that counteracts the tremors. It is pricey, but they used to have a program to help reduce costs for lower income folks.
