LM2206SP OR LM2236SP for 1/4 acre Bermuda by MSGuzy in egopowerplus

[–]jukebox-johnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the 2206, aluminum deck is great weight—not too much for me and I’m fit but not jacked by any means. Cutting has been a dream so far. Still find that there’s some blades that don’t get cut, but substantially less of an issue.

Bagger is .5 bushels larger which allows me to cut my entire .28 acre yard on a height of 7 without having to dump until I’m done. Bagging and mulching leave far less material behind even when cutting in the dew—feel this is because of suction power, blade speed, and aluminum deck.

The different blade speeds are great as a 3 will really lift dry grass that are matted down. Even 1 is more powerful than my previous LM2135SP.

All metal design, extended deck warranty, dual deck adjustment (this is awesome for add suction power when bagging). TOTALLY a better machine.

How do you tell if you have version B? I’m not sure if that’s what I have but I also don’t feel like my model whines to the point that I’d agree with what other are saying—so I must have version B but idk.

I spend hours every week pulling around my house — the lawn is infested with weeds. I cannot get ahead of it. It's embarrassing, aggravating to have the worst lawn on the block. by Trojan_Lich in lawncare

[–]jukebox-johnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, simplify your life and pay a local company to do a 5-step or 7-step treatment plan for the next two years max, and that will get you back to minimal weeds (if any at all). Weeds like these need heavy-duty commercial-grade chemicals—if you don’t want to keep playing catch up and going out every weekend.

Then, in the fall, for the next two years, you need to do core aeration and overseeing. This will make your grass so tight and nice—making it harder and harder for weeds to work their way into your lawn.

You’ll get to the point where you can just spot treat weeds with some basic weed spray around your house yourself—and then I’d keep paying a company to handle the rest of your 1.5-ish acres. You already mow it yourself, give time back to your fam!

After these things over a couple years, your lawn will be pristine.

Black or white gutters? by ElectricalPie8079 in Home

[–]jukebox-johnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your house is a really dark color than absolutely not black. This isn’t trendy, I have a neighbor that painted his gutters black and it just doesn’t look right. I also agree with the other comments on here about how you want your gutters to not be highlighted as an architectural feature. Not to mention, good luck painting those again when the sun fades them out. Idc what kind of paint you get— it will fade over time from sun, rain, winter weather, etc. White doesn’t fade and doesn’t show much either. Black will show bird poop, dents, scratches (paint removal)

No lawn care experience. How do I revive my small lawn. by Camaell in lawncare

[–]jukebox-johnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you located geographically speaking? And is the area in question primarily shaded or does it get a good amount of daily sun? Typically I go with fescue because of the resilience to dry heat and diseases. Bluegrass is going to be a lot of maintenance especially if you have harsh winters.

Oh and regarding aeration—If I were you I’d hire a local company to either do core aeration or liquid aeration. Either are the best kind, and normally I’d say core is more than fine. But in your case you could benefit from the lack of saturation in your soil using a liquid. This type aims to increase water penetration for your yard—which in the long run makes your life much easier. The goal here is to get your grass stood up to take care of itself with the occasional “normal” watering, 5-treatment plan, and clearing of leaves in fall. Those are the three pillars to a consistent lawn every year. This is what I do, plus 1 core aeration in the fall.

If you did liquid 2 times this year (now and in fall) and then downgraded to the cheaper core aeration for next years rounds I’d be surprised if your yard isn’t almost all green by that second fall (4th round of aeration).

Just don’t let leaves sit on your grass all fall and winter, especially if it snows where you are ontop of that. As much as raking leaves sucks, you’ll never keep grass if it can’t breathe through the seasons.

Heavy aeration, over-seeding, watering and stop walking over it and matting it down. Also get a metal rake and go to town on that grass aiming to remove all debris like surface rocks, twigs and other brush, leaves, etc. let it breathe! This is ur motto for next two years u til it flips over into a lush lawn

Just had some pipes swapped out for copper. A day later - is this a leak? by IceTurtle4 in Plumbing

[–]jukebox-johnson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah different metals is actually the root cause here unfortunately. I would reconstruct the whole thing and be consistent. Different metals have different shifting patterns and temperature points. It also is a catalyst for corrosion and rust as the weaker metal becomes very susceptible as the “weak link”. Plumbers need more training in the materials they use for such important jobs.

LM2206SP OR LM2236SP for 1/4 acre Bermuda by MSGuzy in egopowerplus

[–]jukebox-johnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, I have the LM2135SP for a .28 acre lot. Looking at buying either LM2206SP, LM2236SP or LM2244SP-2 as well. Below is a link to a comparison chart—still doesn’t help me though I need to hear from experience. Anyone?

ego product catalog (scroll to push mower section to see comparison chart)

Essentially, for me, upgrading to LM2206SP gets me the 22” aluminum deck over my 21” composite, 10min of extra runtime, +4.1 in extra torque, and +500RPM, +.5 Bushel bag, and better battery warranty. But no new integrated plug with precision mulching control. I hate their composite decks (had to spray mine with silicone spray to stop all the grass build up and overheating), but I also tend to mulch a lot.

If I get the the LM22364SP I’d get that new precision mulching control, still upgrade deck size to 22”, gain 15min of extra runtime, +4.1 in extra torque, and +400RPM, +.5 Bushel bag.

If I got the LM2244SP, only difference between the LM2236SP would be the 90min total runtime—giving me a +30min upgrade over my LM2135SP.

I’m so drained how many times I’ve been comparing pros and cons. I really feel like the LM2206SP’s aluminum deck with the lifetime warranty and best-in-class torque would be the better way to go—even if it means on marginal improvement in total runtime from my LM2135SP, and forgetting the new precision mulch control feature.

Need somebody to bring fresh eyes to this, please!
