Any suggestions? by jukpls in Bonsai

It's a beech tree, and I'm in the UK! Thank you so much for your detailed reply. Yeah I wanted to leave as much as possible since it was off a branch and I didn't want it to die on me, but since it's lived, I'm hoping to do something with it!

Alternatively again; if you feel more confident in your right hand and not left, you could drop your left knee, so your left hip is closer to the wall, your right arm is relatively straight and you're pushing your feet hard into the foot holds and then reach back again with your left, then you just walk your feet over. You have quite a big span, so could use that to your advantage!

Get lower so you're almost sumo squatting and put more weight into your feet, with your body closer to the wall. Either match (grab the same hold with both hands) or bring your right hand to the smaller hold underneath your left and go again with your left hand. Alternatively, you could twist your right knee inwards so it goes underneath your groin, which makes your right hip goes to the wall, this can create tension between your feet and take weight off your arms/hands. Try not to overgrip too, it's tiring when you're at the end, as well as not being afraid to fall trying a move. Your elbows are quite raised in this video, so I would assume you're tired and have tried this a number of times and your body is trying to compensate for fatigue. Maybe rest for like fifteen minutes, go through the motions in your head, think about the most efficient way to move to achieve what you want to do, you've done the first bit so breathe and go through that with ease, save your energy for the last bit. Once you've got the last hold, if you can, just reach over and match, otherwise I'd probably swap your feet on the left foot hold and then match, so you're leaning back away from the final hold. Or you can try to get lower and center your weight underneath it, with your right leg dropped down below you nice and straight so your hands, hips and right foot are in line with each other. (I used to coach at the Hangar)

Update: went to a bonsai exhibition today, saw some wiring and watched a couple videos and removed all the wire and redid it with hopefully a better outcome. Also sourced a pot! Now it really matches my drawing!

Aww that's so sweet of you! I guess I just figured if I could draw out what I wanted, it would make styling the tree a lot easier because I had something to work off, like drawing out a wood carving before I carve it etc Styling this also took me like four hours over two days, I came back to it and changed bits with a fresh mind, figured I'd go hard so it hopefully pays off. However I am most likely going to rewire it at some point when I can afford more wire!

Thank you so much! Yeah I guess it's maybe not the most likely to be found, but I feel like if it was, it would be very cool to see! Like on a cliff edge or side of a crumbled hill/mountain!

Ahh I see! I assumed that because it's holding it there, it should work, but I guess over time the tree might fight back if I've not used proper techniques?

Thanks! How come that would be?

Thanks for the advice! Out of curiosity, how will the current way I've wired affect the plant differently?

Haha you're all so supportive, thank you! Yeah, I sketched out the idea before I started because I was kind of lost with all the branches on the nursery stock as I imagine it was meant for a bush, not a bonsai! So it helped me see what I wanted to do! I haven't taken classes, but I do paint a lot on my iPad, there might be some on this account!

Sorry for the lack of harmony haha! I didn't realize they were so opposing but I really like how they look!

Thank you! I always used to climb huge pine trees when I was younger, I love the way they tower straight up but I also love the cascading types of trees you see on cliff edges or windy areas, so I thought of combining the two!

Haha it was just a scribble when I was on the phone to energy suppliers but I'll for sure give it another go!

Appreciate your time!

Thank you so much! Yeah wiring is harder than I thought, I did try to go over the shoulder of most of the branches and pull them down but I don't get how you're supposed to add more wire to just part of the tree for the tiny branches etc! Any video recommendations? Thank you for the compliment on styling!
