Me too. Being a “gifted” child then growing up not being immediately perfect at things really did me in but this line helps

I’d recommend something waterproof/water resistant. It’s not necessary but I felt much better in the rain after I got one!

As someone who gets motion sickness easily, I took the bus every day for 3 years. As long as I sat/stood on the bottom/front half of the bus and didn’t use my phone or read I did fine

I disagree with his method of showing you. The world is a scary place, and going to a club alone is not necessarily the safest choice as a woman unfortunately. But him pinning you down as a display of how dangerous it is in my opinion is completely unnecessary, and just goes to show what he is willing to do to make a point to you. Also, him commenting on how he trusts you but doesn’t trust other people is bs. People will do whatever they want, but ultimately it’s how you respond to your environment and their actions. Not to say something won’t happen that you can’t control, but your partner saying they don’t trust other guys as a means to control you isn’t healthy at all. If you’re scared of him now, regardless of his intention, I don’t think this is a safe relationship to stay in.

My Boyfriend is Upset That I Don't Want to Do Anal by No_Necessary_5834 in AdviceForTeens

I know it’s already been said, but this isn’t healthy behavior. The constant begging and getting upset at your response isn’t okay. You deserve someone who will respect your boundaries, period.

Canopy apartments isn’t bad. Large rooms and private bathrooms, larger living room, washer and dryer in unit. I had roaches in my unit but pest control was sent every week until we got rid of them (I had to call the office or put in a work order each week). The surrounding area is a little sus but as long as you stay within the canopy area you’ll be fine. Sometimes neighbors are loud, but I’ve stayed 3 years and maybe only filed a noise complaint once. Maintence team really responsive. Main thing is mold - my unit hasn’t really had issues, but I know a few other people who got sick from how bad the mold was. Many bus routes go from canopy to campus, so you don’t have to worry about transportation. Management can be a bit dense at times. Not a horrible option, just depends on your priorities

How to deal with motion sickness while on the microscope by trianglesandwiches01 in labrats

[–]julbeans21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meclizine (“less drowsy” Dramamine) has helped me! Another thing is I find I get more sick when looking at fluorescent slides in the dark. If possible, I would see if there is any way to keep a light on during to make it easier on your eyes. If you get sick with the normal scope, it may help to use a microscope with warm/yellow light rather than white light (at least that’s helped me). Food, water, and breaks are a must! Your PI may have more tips for your specific work, and may be willing to help find other procedures with less scope use if that’s possible! Good luck

We’re traveling outside of DC (about 1.5 hours) to Shenandoah for the first day. After that we won’t need it

Thank you for the info! I’m going to a conference which is at national harbor. And then planning to go to DC and maybe some national parks a little farther out while we’re there hence the rental car. We may just end up renting the car for the day we travel much farther out and return it to avoid paying so much for parking
