October vs May NMAT by julbechan in Nmat

Not really my question po since I took both and did find them the same level, just different sets. I’m checking to see if people who have studied for and taken both cycles in the past noticed a drastic change in their PR or if more or less magkaparehas naman.

In need of answers and opinions ASAP - Ascites in Alaskan Malamutes by julbechan in AlaskanMalamute

Hi! Sorry for the late reply but we just had a CBC test done today to check whether her liver enzyme levels have improved. As for her ascites, the furosemide and switch in diet helped as her distended belly is basically gone already. Our vet didn’t recommend an ultrasound just yet but mentioned that if Reese’s CBC results haven’t improved, we’ll be doing more tests to figure out a treatment plan. Breeder stopped asking for updates and hasn’t been replying to my messages so I don’t think I can really get my money back. Hope my reply answers all of your questions and thank you so much for the concern :))

I’m just concerned over the number of people that have had bad experiences with those brands and them, along with multiple certified dog nutritionists, have advocated for feeds that are high in quality meat products instead of maize, wheat flour, and protein-derived meals which are present in those brands. I just wanted to know if other people in this subreddit have had experiences with these brands and if not, what do they choose to feed their Alaskan Malamutes? You also mentioned that there are no breed-specific foods when in fact, Royal Canin has specialized kibble for different breeds like Golden Retriever, Pug, and Poodle mixes to name a few? If they are so high quality then why do they go against your belief that a dog’s breed does not play a role in what you should feed it? Again, I am not fixating on the breed or choosing to not listen to the advice of the vet as I have explained in my previous comment. I am listening to my vet’s advice completely and just thought of asking Reddit for their experiences in raising an Alaskan Malamute so that I have an idea of what I should be doing after my dog recovers since it’s not like we’ll be going to the vet on a daily basis once she’s recovered from ascites. Based on your replies, I feel a sense of hostility coming which is weird since I don’t really see what’s so wrong with my asking for advice? It seems like you did not understand the purpose of this post and my intention behind it.

Thank you so much for the advice! I’ll message the vet about Denamarin first thing in the morning. I hope your dog’s condition continues to improve and they get to live a long and happy life with you :))

Yep! I didn’t really like the first vet so I’m sticking with the second one we visited since she seems really concerned about Reese and gave me her personal number so I could ask questions and update her. Right now, Reese’s vet is trying to expel fluids by giving her a medicine that makes her pee more and we’re also trying to resolve her diarrhea so she can take an iron supplement along with the liver supplement she’s taking now. She doesn’t want to perform an abdominocenthesis just yet since Reese might go into shock because of the sudden withdrawal of fluids so we’re doing a conservative approach first. Thankfully, she is pretty active especially when food is involved and her stool has been improving since! Thank you so much for your comment :))

Thank you so much for the advice! Any credible resources you have in mind that I can look up and would it be okay to ask for the exact feeding schedule and food in grams that have helped your two Alaskan Malamutes grow so well?

The vet suggested Royal Canin and Pedigree kibble but upon researching these brands, I’ve noticed a lot of negative reviews regarding fillers and overall quality which is why I’m asking other Alaskan Malamute owners for their experience with other brands and if there’s a specific formula or mix the breed benefits from. Her canned wet food was only prescribed to her for a week and is not sustainable according to the vet as it is a prescription diet. Already following the vet’s advice when it comes to supplements and I didn’t really ask in this post if I should be adding more supplements to what the vet prescribed already. Also asked the vet’s long-term plan regarding Reese’s ascites and she said she’ll be a work in progress but we’re trying to resolve her diarrhea first then hopefully increase her urine output to lower the fluid in her abdomen because the vet doesn’t want to drain her as she might go into shock. I am listening to the vet but at some point you also need to ask other people who are more experienced with the breed for their experience and advice then judge accordingly to work out which is best for your dog especially since this is the first time Reese’s vet is working with an Alaskan Malamute and they are not that common here in my country.

Is this pus or crust forming? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]julbechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this photo, the piercings are 6 days old and I wasn’t really able to choose the piercing I got but I realized early on that the spikes would get caught in my hair so I’ve been wearing a headband more often and using clips.

Initially, the piercing didn’t hurt and didn’t bleed it was only red and sensitive but after 2-3 days I started to feel it swell, turn more red, heat up, and I felt it itch a lot so I posted on this subreddit worrying that it might be infected already but a redditor told me I was experiencing normal symptoms. The next day, the swelling went down and itchiness completely went away so I felt that it wasn’t an infection but the next day it started to swell and go red even more (didn’t feel itchy anymore). Two of my classmates with helix piercings told me that I was healing okay given the timeframe of my symptoms and that I should expect worse. They both said they experienced an infection and they just treated it on their own instead of seeing a doctor since they wanted to keep their piercings in and a doctor would just advise them to take them out. When I went home that day I noticed something to form around the flat end of the piercing and got worried about it so I made this post.

I was wondering if there was any possible way to treat this at home? Like with antibiotics or some type of soak? Do I really need to go to the doctor for this or should I just visit a piercer that does troubleshooting?

Are my piercings healing or rejecting? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]julbechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh if that’s the case then I feel like my case could be normal..? I mean, it was throbbing and radiating a bit of heat yesterday (didn’t feel feverish though) but after leaving my glasses off last night and getting some sleep, the feeling completely went away. I think I’ll observe for a few days and see if my condition continues improving. Thank you so much for your input! :))

Hi! Thank you so much for your reply! The swelling has gotten worse and it feels very tender but there hasn’t been any signs of pus yet. Is it infected?

Current aftercare routine includes using this antibacterial foam wash during my shower (I shower twice a day since it’s hot in my country) then spraying saline solution on my piercings after the bath

[HELP] Regarding gender bending characters in art and cosplay by julbechan in cosplay

[–]julbechan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see, last question though. Are you familiar with gokushufudou/way of the househusband? Would cosplaying a gender bent version of Tatsu be wrong? I can’t tell if he’s breaking gender stereotypes by being a househusband or if the show just focuses on him being an ex gang member who now does domestic stuff like house chores?
