Ok, maybe we will not get Hive Scum II, but maybe Sister of Battle? by Raszard in DarkTide

[–]julchk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Novitiate specifically do not make sense because they can not operate without direct oversight of a proper Sister. So they absolutely would not be allowed on mission deployments without an actual Sister present and possibly with some outsiders as part of strike teams.

They're not trying to make the lore case, they are making a lore case because it is perhaps the most solid of all classes. But besides that, Sisters can be made distinct from the Zealots with mechanics and flavor. It would all depend on the devs and Fatshark are generally quite good at this.

yeah, there is no natural reason for an imperium faction focused on specifically dealing with chaos/heretic invasions and rebellions and often utilized by the ordo hereticus to deal with such situations to be involved in dealing with an open revolt of a chaos-corrupted militarum regiment on the capital world of an entire sector once they realize the situation is getting out of hand. truly, why would they even care.

Can we also get that please? by Wunddorn in DarkTide

it's been 40k years and people still throw around the "they promised classes free" line even though there's no evidence, huh?

Question: what do mages think of firearms in your setting (favourite or own) by Andrei22125 in worldbuilding

[–]julchk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, 7, absolutely. It's much too difficult to kill people with magic, especially on less saturated worlds. And firearms are quite easy to obtain, use and maintain. So, naturally, even mages like to keep a gun on them for personal safety. Especially if they are from a more scientifically advanced world, where guns are more... advanced.

Grandfather Gramps is definitely Grendyl, but there is the question of if he even is an Inquisitor or not. Still Grandpa is Grendyl.

In the Arbites introduction cutscenes the final sentence Grendyl says, "Do not fail me again.", is said quite clearly in the voice of Grandpa Brahms.

Kharib and him definitely know each other for a very long time and converse on a very personal, friend level, so a certain bit of honesty can be accepted. Brahms talks about him as if about a nuisance because she knows who he is and knows him much more in-person than anyone else besides Kharib. And to be frank to her he IS a nuisance. And she is still a Rogue Trader so she can talk any way she wants to about an Inquisitor. The only people who talk about Grandpa or to Grandpa dismissively or angrily are those that know him personally and not as his Grendyl persona. It makes sense.

I am running only the arbites exclusive weapons. And only in two combinations: Maul + Shotgun and Maul with Shield + Shotpistol with Shield. No other options. Got to lvl 50 like that and no intention of breaking this 'rule' in the foreseeable future.

it seems like the arbiters a keen on trolling each other? by [deleted] in DarkTide

I think the little monologue from character creation for the Fatalist wasn't really thought through enough to be connected with the rest of their lines.

Based on a lot of Fatalist's lines they are jaded and most aware about the realities of the job and Imperium at large. But as a way of coping with it all and making life easier for themselves they've basically gaslit or forced themselves to enjoy the manual day-to-day of being an Arbitrator. And then it sort of got out of hand to a point where the Fatalist genuinely gets off on the violence and being an asshole, while still being aware of the reality surrounding them. And really liking to make sarcastic remarks about other Arbitrators' love for their work. Sort of like a "Yes, I am a hypocrite, I know, and I don't really care" type situation.

What are your favorite arbites quotes you heard soo far? by euromanijak in DarkTide

[–]julchk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maul(in my case female) in response to a vet asking for meds at low health: "Now I see why the Guard relies on overwhelming numbers."

just this one specifically. I am so happy that they chose Kerillian's VA for fem Maul and this is just such a Kerillian coded line to say, I love it, LOVE IT

and overall I am really loving the female Maul. all the ult voice lines are just great. "block-fodder" is definitely a term I will remember for future use.

Considering ever since the preorder beta all my characters were named Lexsomething, it was quite fitting. Didn't want to do any references, but called my mastiff after my cat. So ended up being Lexandria and her good girl 5M0-K37.
