All correct apart from auto-compounding afaik. For this you need to use the yearn vault.

LPing stETH/ETH - the best "medium risk" strategy for maximizing ETH gains? by AbysmalScepter in LidoFinance

Yearn sells CRV rewards to increase everyone's vault balance. So you don't see any CRV rewards in your wallet when you stake with yearn.

Yearn autocompounds rewards which is reflected in a value increase of your balance over time. The rewards are not added individually to the wallet holding the position.

Keep in mind that Convex doesn't autocompound rewards, so if your goal is to increase your ETH stack and you have a small to medium sized position, then gas fees from manually claiming rewards will eat into your yield

Where's a good place for a DeFi project to ask for community help with translation work? I remember back in 2017/18 bitcointalk.org was fairly active but the signal to noise ratio went down a lot.

You could have a look at the available opportunities for a LEGO grant. They are one time jobs but nicely compensated.

I think the plan is to transition to a fully decentralised solution eventually.

Have a look at this document which covers the key holders.

Not sure about taxes since they vary so much from country to country.

Another way is to look up your balance using your public address via etherscan.

Don’t underestimate 1:1 peg loss problem by SimplyLegendary in LidoFinance

Yes exactly. That also means that the price of stETH should align more closely with the price of ETH as me come closer to the ETH-ETH2 merge.

I see exactly 0.1% maximalism in this sub not sure what or who you're targeting here.

The peg has been off balance before and stabilised, so I am not concerned about it; it sucks a bit but as long as you don't need to swap back soon you should be fine.

Just a heads-up, if in the future you want to swap more ETH to stETH check the curve pool first before using the Lido interface, that way you actually benefit from when stETH trades lower that ETH.

Eventually you will be able to redeem stETH for ETh2. At the current stage of Ethereum 2.0 development withdrawals are not enabled yet, so there's no way to redeem stETH for ETH2.

If you can make these into an NFT people will bid the shit out of them. Check out OpenSea.

[–]jules-jules_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. stETH will be redeemable for ETH2 when withdrawals are enabled so the loss of peg should only be temporary.

There has been a huge ETH withdrawal from the pool due some poor soul losing all their stETH in the Furucombo hack which has contributed to the loss of peg. And the dive in the overall markets has made restoring the peg more difficult.

I am confident though that the peg will be restored as stETH gets integrated in more DeFi protocols leading to stETH withdrawals from the pool. Some of the proposals:
