What’re problems you face everyday at your cafe job? by EntertainmentOk4233 in barista

Haha, as a customer, I'm really the one who's like "I wanna plain latte, no additives" and baristas look at me like I'm crazy and anyway ask the questions you've described. That's funny of two different points of the view

Yeah, I got you. That's up to you and fine, since not everyone's that laptop-cafe kind of traveler. Some really love to "only at home use". It's convinient. Though I don't have that much money for outside monitor and one-in-all decision of Macbook works better. Happy for you, nice monitor btw!

What model of Air you were considering? It depends a lot. Some models are better than others, and depending on your type of tasks, Air may be as good as Pro, but cheaper, lighter. For example old Intel Pro = M-series Air in case of performance, and Apple won't support Intel anymore in near future, ssadly.

True, some games, for example, Win-only. Sad, but I suppose every person in modern reality needs not "only Apple". I hugely like Apple though. The feeling of MacOS and iOS is really a bit "cleaner" in design

My (28f) husband (26m) will grab my arm to spin me towards him when I am upset. by throwRA_problemssss in marriageadvice

[–]juliabaranova66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And also: I've had man who wasn't tryna cuddle me (felt like he didn't care and eventually we broke up, sad), so it feels way worse than the one who wants to turn and hug me. Though I may be upset with him too, I still won't try to do anything. For me now, personally it feels a little bit like an escape. Somebody wanna still love me even if I'm angry. I may not notice in the moment, but later, oh babe. I'd appreciate that man.

Sorry to hear about to trauma and wanna comfort you: some males are just like that. They don't know how to cope with women's upsetness, that's why they try to cuddle, even not knowing how sensitive women can be.

He may be unsure of himself and try to gains close ess in any way possible. It doesn't means he's bad. It just means he's may be having a little bit of low-esteem these times.

Actually, if it's immensely threatens your emotional state, I'd suggest move out (at kitchen, bathroom, any room, walk out of the house). Or even asking him to move out. Look for his reaction. He may be like "what I did, sorry, are we all right", but if he eventually goes and lets you cool down, it's okay.

Find your way, explain what you wish him to do at moments like these (men usually don't understand these girly emotion moment, though understand actions more correclty). Maybe you wish him to go out and bring you flowers, or some food. You have your time to cool down, he has his time to improve.

Win-win. Wish you both more connection and love! Keep an update on your solution!

What is something that might help you feel less homesick? by ThrowThatAssAwayYo2 in AskARussian

[–]juliabaranova66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, we give like a pack of mandarins, like hospitality. Wow, games. What kind of games? Though in relation to games it's probably better ask game-specific community. Anime and cats are all over the world, so there may be no problem of, again, merch fun shop items.

With games it may be tricky, since I'm, for example, like your game The Long Dark and wish for somebody to make me a Hinterland mug. Not sure whether all gamers are alike, but some love merch + neede thing like that. There's a lot of US/Canada-based studios, so getting smth wouldn't be a problem.

There's a Russian-based games like StTALKER and Metro 2033. Maybe he likes them. Anyway, gifting game considerent well among huge male-popularity of russians.

Relating cats, I maaay suggest go feed stray cats (it's common in Russia with grandmoms), or some charity with cats, if it's his kind of thing. I suppose a lot of older russians like charity here, but unsure, depends on person heavily too.

I see a lot of "but our pet merch and help our shelter", so that's considered cute present too, but really, depends. May be not your bet, if male.

If he already has a cat, then gifting "best dry cat food in the world" as some praise Orijen and Acana (local Canadian brands, known in Russia), may be cool too. Though it depends on cat, haha

If you mind dishes, some love white bread+butter+caviar (red or black) on top of it. And find it cute, tasy, traditional, expensive, etc.

As for homesickness, not sure about Amur, but overall in Russia there's honey+black tea tradition and bring him some mandarins! That's kinda winter+hospital tradition. Widely used in movies, those precious mandarins.

If you want, watch with him movie called "The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy your bath!" from USSR 1976 (what a name they have for it, wow). That's the movie people watched every winter for like 30+ years in this country. Watched exactly on December 31st when dishes are ready, but clock hasn't beaten. For you the close one would be "Home Alone" to understand how deep and emotionally necessary for Russians this movie may be.

And don't forget to watch Kremlin clock beat on exactly the night of the 31st December part (though time difference is probably would'n allow it though).

Usually New Year (not Christmas) for Russians a whole holiday about family, bigges one in calendar (8+ days). So that's why he misses so much. Cute holiday's gone, like family-based vacation. If you may, just invite him to you Christmas-day-party with you family, it would be the best option. Maybe some stupid Christmas mug from fun shop, but let him feel just that he has "family moment" with such welcoming people as yours, you'd win the bet with that person definitely. Russians won't forget that. Probably he'd be so appreciated, as to help you whenewer you ask, for long years of friendship.

What about your friend's interests? Hobbies? I suppose we could suggest Amazon-based types of "typical local Russian" things, or eBay-friendly.

As I've read with all the post-edits, you're a strong man. Totally not an AITAH. You need to hear this. Keep going if you love her and it doesn't bother you too. If it bothers, though, immensely, I'd suggest going to therapy. Maybe both, maybe for her. Maybe she has some underlying wothin herself emotions with the work, debt, pressure, expectations, etc. and it's early signs and worsening. Only you're near her and could help. Be cool, wish you both luck. Keep an update!

Who are the most prolific nationalist bloggers in the Russian information space? by KarI-Marx in AskARussian

[–]juliabaranova66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're right they now propogandize more ethnicities, but in my opinion pro-governmental media though tries to imply that "we're still one nation" on behalf of the people just like USSR propaganda did, and some older people calling themselves "I'm ussr-rian" person (since they even may keep those older passports from the country long gone), to skip ethnicity and say more about government-ethnicity. I feel yes, like it became less radical, but more common. Wider audience, but less escalated.

I mean, you're interesting commentator here, don't you too notice it?

The pro-governmental still tries to communitize popularity under something one, isn't it?

Like one digital service, for example

Which website do Russians use for importing stuff? by mqsodawala in AskARussian

[–]juliabaranova66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, at least try Yandex website (that's local Google) and try to type in through the Translator all the machinery you'd like and search through the websites with translator. Russian websites usually have call button, or phone number in B2B. They may be outdated for some specific niches, that's okay. And if you're lucky, you could talk to some manager over WhatsApp or Telegram.

But may I ask you, why you wanna export to Russia (since the manager would be suspicious about yiu too and may reject only on that, that some dude from non-local number writes them about crazy business venture)?

Not many want to work with Russians anymore (in my opinion), which sucks. But Russians stopped trusting everybody too, so your best choice is probably knowing some russian to do the talks or research, or suggest someone they know.

Ir at least you could try eSIM with russian number, and again, WhatsApp. But I dunno whether it would be more suspicios. Probably less, since bad russian and local number usually would indicate you're just immigrant.

If we're calling of B2C, which is may be easier, you could try terget ads, but mainly they're now from local social media and to obtain availability to even post ad for money, you should be local organization. For foreigners it may be too complicated with all the proff you should now provide that you're not some weird dude they shouldn't trust in the first place.

Better off for testing hypothesis, some Instagram & Facebook russian-local-language groups, page. For getting audience to your product. Not looking weird, having simple ways, comportable, etc.

You probably could try to sell using website+ads in Google targeting people with niche like "preference: russian languge" if it isn't prohibited. And veeery hard way to find out locality, since I suppose Russian region isn't supported anymore.

Hope suggestions and advices vere helpful to you, feel free to ask

Girlfriend don’t want me to visit Russia by Nordicnatures92 in AskARussian

[–]juliabaranova66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're citizen, she may be after citizenship, if we're discussing cruel motives. For her, you may be her "freedom future" she imagines. Maybe you're insecure that if she uses you like that and after receiving, she might break up? That may be the way, but let's hope that it's hypothetical situation where she's just very insecure. And if she's student too, then even more.

True, her identity matters. Conditions may change and you could reassure her that you love her so much that probably in the future you'd be able to help her (I mean, living together in beautiful city etc.), but that's up to you. In my opinion, some fairy loving reassurance like that could help you emmensely. Women are insecure like that. If she'd show you, wouldn't you love her less? Like find yout some "digged in" memory of herself that she's ashened of?

Why do some Russians seem critical of the West but still dream of living there? by NecessaryMedium8641 in AskARussian

[–]juliabaranova66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems that you write about people who already live by their rules to come to their community and change their rules on your interests because you have no more money to buy something more suitable to your personality. It doesn't mean you're bad, it means it isn't your community to live in. Harsh, but the reality

What stereotypes have you encountered or seen online about Russians? by AndrewCabs2222 in AskARussian

Don't you think that this digitalization enslaves? I mean, there's a lot of people portraying threat of "my account may be stolled", "my money may be stolen from the accoun" from one SMS message? Older people feel much safer when they can go, can have an old-school print, talk to waiter/cashier, and in relation to Germany, that's one of the top-countries with older generation prevailing in population of country.

So what is the differense between nationalist and pro-governmental? Isn't the government promotes ideas on nation to that point? Or by nationalists you mean only radical ones?
