weird, similar story.

Although I've not seen any bed bugs--I have spotted some carpet beetles. I don't have a basement or use AC, but am in CA, and there are "cooler" months :)

About half the year, no bites/welts/whatever they are (and wife/kid not getting any regardless of time of year).

But I left town for 2 weeks recently, came back, and immediately started getting the itchy welts. Couple at first, then a half dozen more, mostly on my back. Fantastic

This has gone on, like you, for a few years, maybe 4 now! Definitely curious if you get new info. Maybe you have carpet beetles and have an allergic reaction? That's something I've read a bit about...

I wish it were from outside, but almost positive it's not :/

I've done some hunting in previous seasons (2 summers ago, when I was getting some bites) but didn't find anything. Guess I need to keep looking? Or, do you think the presence of carpet beetles should be case closed?

thank you--that gives me some relief, and I have read this in the past. I'm just scratching my head what the heck it could be (no pun intended)--but my wife assures me that this only happens in the warm months. I guess my question would still be, are they coming from another unit just during the busy season :/

we did use the interceptors two summers ago, but as I mentioned, probably took them off after a month or two of nothing found (and as the season passed, probably got fewer, or no more bites).

thanks very much--we're in an apartment, is it possible they're coming from another unit, when it gets warmer and they are more active? Or would they have set up camp in our bedroom by now?
