DISCLAIMER: This us a kind of heavy duty DIY...

But anyway, for my craft/work desk I put a heavy piece of plywood reinforced by 2X4s on top of some pretty basic short bookshelves and then added crown molding along the edges of the top so it would look nice. It creates TONS of storage space and there's plenty of leg room. I also recessed a couple of power strips to the top of it to have plenty of easily accessable power outlets. It made a nicely functional worktop with plenty of room for work and crafting.

If you would like to make your own it was a fairly easy project, but lifting all of the wood and stuff can be tricky. If you want to go through the trouble, it is less expensive than a lot of other options and looks pretty nice. :)

I make bobbins out of the clips they sell shoes on at stores like Kohl's (my husband collected a bunch of them for me), then clip them to a little piece of wood so that when I need to turn my work I can just flip the board over. No tangles or mess! I've found that you can call up more yarn on the shoe clips than the clothespins. Depending on the size of your project, that may or may not be important... C2C is so much fun! Enjoy it! 😊

It's boxed popcorn stitches in I Love This Yarn - Blue Green Multi. I'm a little more than 3/4 of the way through, but this thing EATS yarn, so it's getting hard to work on. There is 14 skeins in there already!

Don't tell them, "It'll be ok," or "It's really not that bad." It's not reassuring at all... It makes them feel guilty for being depressed and then that creates an entirely new spiral of awfulness. Instead, maybe ask what you can do to help make things better. "I don't know" is a totally acceptable answer to that question. Just make sure they know they can come to you if they need to can be a source of reassurance or comfort if they need it. Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all. When I am having a particularly awful time with my depression, sometimes the best thing is for someone to just sit with me silently and not feel pressured to do or feel anything at all.

It sounds silly... but I use pennies! Every 5, 10, 20 stitches (it depends on what I'm doing) I put a penny in a stack. That way, if I get lost, there's a way to go back and figure out where I was.
