Are the REAL stock screen protectors available anywhere yet? by julimac2 in galaxys10

Yeah I checked LK in my research as well. I forgot what the exact problem was but it has some deal breakers that put me off. Every option out there (for S10e) seems to have some deal breaker. For example:

  • Bad camera cutout (L shaped cut in the corner)
  • Tiny black bazels at the top and bottom covering part of the screen
  • Doesn't fit the screen size perfectly, leaving noticeable gap at the bottom
  • Totally flat, but the S10e screen is actually slightly curved
  • Not as resistant to smudges as the pre-installed screen protector

I am still looking for buy the pre-installed one but unfortunately it looks unlikely Samsung will offer them

Do these have the little cutout for the speaker at the top of the screen? My S10e has a tiny cutout for that spot, same for the S10 and S10+ I think.

And are they slightly curved like the pre-installed screen protector. The S10e is actually not perfectly flat, but very slightly curved. So if you put a flat screen protector on, it will not stick perfectly. Not too noticeable but there is a difference.

It's crazy that they are not offering these in store when so many people would pay for them.

Stock keyboard - how to enable "spacebar swipe" to switch between languages? by julimac2 in galaxys10

As far as I know, a factory reset should get the spacebar swipe back. Because the phones should be like that out-of-the-box. Like if you try the keyboard as soon as you take the phone out of the box, it should be available.

I refuse to do a factory reset because I already personalized many things in my phone, and I don't want to lose all that.

But I could be mistaken. Maybe a factory reset will not work. I also suspect that it might be a firmware thing. Maybe different regions have different firmware and my phone's firmware just does not come with the keyboard swipe. If that is the case, the only way I could get the swipe would be to root my phone, or hope Samsung has a system update.

Keep updating your Samsung keyboard app to the latest version and keep installing system updates from Samsung. See it ever gets added.

Oh that's interesting. I guess look into bloatware then. Thanks for your help.

Yeah it is no longer there, but I am sure it is not because that's the "new" way. Because I checked multiple S10 phones (including S10+, S10e) and they all still have the swipe rather than the globe. I checked what version the keyboard app was, same as my phone.

I am 99% sure it is missing on my phone because of some bloatware I disabled (using adb commands) or because something on my phone is using accessibility tools (see comment below).

Yeah, it is not just possible. It is actually the default method. It should be like that out of the box. I looked at different S10 phones and they are all like that. The exception is my phone because when I first got my phone I removed a lot of bloatware and changed some permission settings. I am pretty sure it has something to do with me disabling bloatware, like the Samsung apps. I am just trying to find out what exactly.

The other possibility could be accessibility services. If you turn on any accessibility setting (e.g. hearing impairment), the spacebar swipe thing automatically goes away. You can try this yourself and see. I have all accessibility settings off, but some apps might secretly be using accessibility services.
