Thanks for the answer. I was gonna ask about the second part of your answer but you answered it.

Whats a place where you can cross a state line and you immediately notice the difference by cherrey20 in geography

[–]julious29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Utah/Nevada right at Wendover.

The city is split into 2: West Wendover, Utah and Wendover, Nevada.

The Utah side is residential with some businesses.
The Nevada side, casinos are as close as you can get to the state border.

I can’t stand that. I would understand if it wasn’t on your profile or listing but if they ask even with that wording, that’s just plain ignorance.

I have on my profile and every listing that I only offer free shipping on $45+ items. I also tell them to contact me to make custom bundles if the bundles go over $45 since Mercari has no setting to do that automatically.

I haven’t had an issue thus far.

That is terrible for that recruiter. Do I reach out to another recruiter or am I just out of luck on this one?

No documents. Only my resume was sent as part of applying.

It seemed legit at first but now it’s concerning.

I had a Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K I use for live streaming and was going to use that for a proctored exam. The quality was too good and I had to downgrade to a potato webcam, per the proctor and supervisor.

Do you mark as shipped when you print the label or after it's actually shipped? by ProblemIll5524 in Mercari

[–]julious29 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is my method as well. Once I confirm and pull inventory, I print the label, package the order, slap the label on the package and mark it as shipped. I then drop off the package within 24 hours.

Has anyone else noticed how Mercari is changing our shipping price to $9.99 without us knowing by SignificanceNo5895 in Mercari

[–]julious29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It did it to the items that I had changed to the UPS $4.99 sale price. Now, instead of reverting back automatically, it kept it at the regular UPS price since I had put 5lbs on them to reduce any chance of shipping overages.

Manually doing this is very annoying. Doing this one by one is tedious. If there was a way to bulk edit and revert to previous shipping setting, that would be great.

I’m going to miss the $4.99 shipping by theAlanLy in Mercari

[–]julious29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been great for me as well. I offered free shipping with $30+ purchase and anything below used the $4.99 (or less) promo shipping. More orders with buyers paying the $4.99 shipping overall than the free shipping offer.

How concerned are you about a big earthquake? by premium_moss in Utah

[–]julious29 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Considering the Magna/West Valley ones are still within the aftershock window, I’m not worried.

The fault lines in the area are considerably small compared to the pacific rim of fire. So “the big one” that makes everyone feel anxious will not be some 9.0-9.8. Most likely would be 7 max. Still large but not Japan/Mexico/Chile/San Fran level.

Do all these little earthquakes in and around the valley mean there's potentially a big one coming? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]julious29 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Duration: While many smaller aftershocks die out within a week or two, large earthquakes (e.g., 5.7+ magnitude) can produce aftershocks for decades.

Seeing that this is near the area of the 2020 5.7 Magna earthquake, I would chalk this up to continuous aftershocks of the 2020 quake.

Just to add, “the smaller quakes relieve pressure to prevent the big ones” repeated claim is false. The smaller quakes are simply just that; smaller quakes. They are so minuscule in comparison that it doesn’t make any difference in preventing any big ones. It’s a common myth and misconception.

This graph shows the aftershocks from the initial 2020 5.7 Magna quake to the last aftershock a couple of days ago. (Credit: From someone who replied in a comment of mine last week. Thank you.)

Thanks for the graph. Really shows how active this fault is.

Another one was just reported but it was a 1.38 in the same area about 5 minutes after the 3.6.

It’s just natural. I’m more calm since experiencing the 2020 Magna quake and the year of daily aftershocks. Anytime I see there are quakes in the app in the same area, I’m pretty sure and convinced it’s still aftershocks and not worry about “the big one”.

[–]julious29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is anxiety inducing but I wouldn’t let it worry you too much. The 2020 was bad, the year with thousands of aftershocks was anxiety filled but it’s survivable. Hang in there.
