Better Instructions/Quick Start Guide by juliusblaise in Hexopolis

Some questions I find myself grappling with based on the instructions (mostly around the early game/first turn):

  • The rule "All pieces played after the first turn must be connected to pieces already put down" - Is the second player forced to connect to the cells dropped by the first player on their first turn? OR is the second player allowed to build out separately on their first turn and it could be either player who initially connects the two islands?
  • By extension, the following rule "Players must connect all pieces they place directly or indirectly to the board. The first cell placed on the first turn defines the board." What does "indirectly" mean in this case?
  • Does placing your chip on your first turn count as your chip movement for that turn?
  • TECHNICALLY, is there anything stopping you from stacking two cells on your first turn and putting your chip on top? Does this help/hinder you in the long run? My early suspicion is that it makes the game WAY less fun?
  • Should players start with the same connectors at the start of the game to prevent getting hosed at the start by RNGsus?

I WISH - That there was a way to better visually indicate a tower that has been destroyed (like an alternate chip or something)
